Depends which Pools turns up, we still have a long way to go to achieve the important consistency required for success. ( We are constantly inconsistent )

Pools 3 Barnet 1. well we have to give at least one away haven't we. rakxe

Over to you's.

Another Packed Vic - Ready to stuff these lot ! They have a heavy injury list (as do we like). But i think we will have enough at home to get the job done 2-1. No way can we keep a clean sheet though !

Hoping a right back comes in and another CAM. Crawford rested should give us what we missed last week!

Looking forward to this one - a win still has the playoffs in the very distance for us

I thought Crawford was still suspended for the Barnet game?

We need a win to keep the KP-inspired feel good factor going. The reaction on here if we get beat again doesn’t bear thinking about.

I suppose Stephenson can fill in on the right, hopefully Cooper or Dickenson are fit enough to do some graft in midfield. Another tight game which we'll nick with a late goal.

If Phillips plays same side as last week we will lose

We have a gap at right back/RWB and in midfield so going 1-2 loss in a close game

6-1 Stephenson, Midgley x3, Henderson & Tinkler

What a nice Christmas present that was in 2000 and one of the best runs we had 7 straight wins in a row.

And the 4-0 home win years ago when we stayed up and the chant ""we are stayin' up the Pools are stayin' up rang down Church Street where a pub sign displayed such a message. I think it might have been Craig Midgley days. I do remember there was one game left at Swansea and it was 2-2 and he who says its too early scored. Forgive me for getting old. As for this one... Well as the handle says...ToTh Hartlepool2-0 followed by bellyaching laughter from The Hartlepool and district Cannot Keep A Clean Sheet Society. :-o

beware the ides of march. at least a defeat will stop everyone getting excited about something thats not going to happen. reaching and winning the play offs. another real crap ref who,ll give em everything and end up 2-1 to the southerners.

True, the play-offs are out of reach barring a miracle. But it's important to finish the remaining fixtures going in the right direction - Pools haven't done that since the 2019/20 season ended early because of the Covid lockdown. We won promotion the year after - KP needs the same platform for success from this season.

so true in every respect. needs something in place to get us though the summer and for raj,s point of view an increase in season ticket sales. promotion now seems a distant memory and apat from cup and trophy runs nothing really good to remember either.

Think there's only me n Mr D still believe in miracles.
After re-adressing the remaining fixtures I've brought the magic number down to 75 pts.
9 wins 1 draw.

thats a good point. wallace has been the most dissapointing of all the signings in the summer and thats when he actually is available to play. expected someone different and better.

Hopefully next season the squads good enough.
That we don't blame individuals for a non win which the majority of us do now n again.
Win Lose Draw as a team.
Move on to next game.

its those w ho blame individuals because the majority do not like them or base it on highlights of games i have a problem with. if you actually like a player many others do not then tell us all and not follow the flow just to make you feel part of the gang or become more popular on here. someone on here is still a fan of killip. good luck to you for at least you have an opinion and not a sheep.

I'm watching the Dorking v Chesterfield match and how they are running away with the league is beyond me, it's liking watching a game on the rec, utter crap and getting beat 2-0

I guess no team can play well every week. Dorking on their plastic pitch fighting for their lives, Spirites maybe not as up for a fight cos they know they are going up whatever. Anyway 2-1 at HT. Wouldnt be surprised if Chesterfield took the points, they have a lot of quality players who can conjure a goal out of nowt. We'll see.

The scary thing is they are 30 odd points better than us. Maybe they have their feet up? Won the league at a canter.

Me too its now 3-1. Yep its crap.
I watched the Arbroth v Raith match last night on BBC Scotland. At half time it was 0-2 but Arbroth won 3-2. It was quite entertaining with the wind/heavy rain playing its part.
The ground is just yards from the sea and in the last 15 minutes of the first half the home goalie launched two balls into the sea never to be seen again!

Pools should not worry about Barnet's lofty league position.

New lads straight in!

Team announced. Both new lads in the starting 11. Waterfall out with an illness. Cooper starts in midfield with Cooke and Ageymang. Lacey on the bench but no sub keeper. Lets hope Dixon doesnt come a cropper.

Or get sent off, I assume one of the outfield players has already been nominated to step in.
I am no manager but is it a good idea to start with 2 new players albeit one is already familiar with squad ?

unless hes injured why have Lacey on the bench in front of Burton?

We all know what lacey can and cant do, we should be giving Burton some experiene given where we are in the league

1-0 Barnet and well deserved
havent got going yet in 4 2 3 1 formation

right back started well but Mani D way too isolated and wide players not in game---plenty to improve on

as for goal how we are so open with 2 defensive midfielders is not good

Always give the opposition a goal start. Seems to be in the Pools players DNA.

another game where the oppo are simply better than us
Cooke struggling again once someone gets tight to him and resorts to compalininng to ref

Serious investment needed Raj to get us back up if you are staying !

Parkes off injured and replaced by Lacey, so Manni O and Lacey at CBs are a throwback to the Askey era. Not feeling optimistic today.

Ffs Lacey on

There is a good argument mani O is the best center back at the club, but needs someone like waterfall with him

Not laid a glove on them so far and a few players look
Like they don’t know their roles

Barnet on the other hand v well drilled their keeper v good too playing like a sweeper and mopping up long balls which lets the rest of their team press v high

Aygemang must be dizzy as has to do all
Of feather and cookes running for them
I know our defensive record is shite but biggest area for upgrade is our
Midfield

2-0 just fuck off Dixon

Poor challenge from mani O that led to free kick

The new manger bounce is officially over it seems, might need to bump up that ‘by the end of the season Askey won’t look so bad comment’’ that a few people laughed at

0-2. Curtains I'm afraid. Buggered up my Saturday. Is a question now of how many Barnet score or am I being wildly pessimistic?

Half Time
Completely out played by a team with better players who are better coached

way too many passengers--Cooper and Grey not in game and our only tactic is to punt it to Mani D as not mobile enough and no options to beat their press.

Cooke is trying but getting bullied off it and AGAIN a midfiled with feather and Cooke in it wont cut it in this league....not a massive Crawford fan but if we want to play this formation need him and Aygemang as part of midfield.

Not sure how we change it with the options we have, maybe Dickerson for Cooper but really thats tinkering at edges or Duffus for Feather and just go 4-4-2 and embrace teh long ball

Dixon is beyond a joke now, praying he only has a 1 year contract and the fact Lacey is back on the pitch is probably the most depressing thing of all--geunuinely thought we had seen the last of him.

Jameson not on the bench, how bad has Dixon got to be before he's dropped, mistakes in every game lately.
