Do we have a media person in the club or not? There has been no news from the club on news now Hartlepool United since Tuesday. Nearly all the interviews shown come via BBC Radio Tees as do most of the highlights. When DC was manager there was an article put out daily. this is not a reflection on KP but more the club keeping us the supporters and therefore their customers in the dark. Does anyone have aclue what is happening, answers or speculation please.

Sure Simmo went to Spennymoor who used to do the media section.
Decent at his job but a few on here went overboard like weed lost a 40 goals a season striker.

Alex Chandy was the media man but left, the fella who interviews the manager and the players on the OS is not from Tees.

do not know what the problem is. if there is nothing to report its better not to bother until there is something. rather see nothing than some pointless frothy garbage coming out of the club like some seem to think is needed to keep fans happy like say a 5 minute interview with the person who provides the chips at the vic.

Agree, it's just been a slow news week with no Tuesday night game and no comings and goings apart from Senior. There'll be he usual pre-match stuff later today.

The new lad Josh (listed as Media and Communications Officer on the OS) is a much better interviewer than Chandy - at least he remembers to get a full injury update from KP every time.

The thing I find most frustrating about this new bloke is he waits until KP mentions the crowd ( which he always does ) then asks him what he thought of the crowd KP politely answers but must be thinking what the fuck are you on son.

its all a PR exercise anyway and i,d imagine KP or any other managers would give far different reply,s to these questions if they were not as diplomatic and had there own way. really apart from player injury updates or new signings do we really learn anything new or we have not seen ourselves.

Apart from the stupid interview questions along the lines of "how important was it to score more goals than the opposition", tbf you do have to give the lad some credit for the videos he produces of the home games and goals which I think are decent enough.

Used to talk absolute twaddle,but was funny.

I had a few gentle run ins with Mark when Ken Jong Il was in charge and he instructed Simmo to get names of people who had criticised him. I didn’t play ball which no doubt got him a bit of grief. Many were frustrated by the party line he had to stick to and the ‘no further comment will be made’ regime.

Nevertheless, in his time at Pools Mark developed into an excellent media man and match commentator. I am firmly in the camp that believed he was a real loss.

Met Mark Simson and spoke to him when he was at Barrow and he came across as a good man you can see by his pod casts with Mickie Barron that although he no longer works for the club he will always be a Poolie and his heart remains in Hartlepool.

I don’t believe Singh seen the value of paying the same salary to Mark Simpson as previous owners did. Josh Youll was part time at Hebburn Town, I can’t see his salary being very much at Pools but obviously a step up the ladder. I remember when Chandy first come in he was awful but gradually improved to be decent.
You have to remember before an interview they will ask the person if there are any questions they don’t want to answer.

Bring back Simmo!

Simmo got the push in 2020 during the first Covid lockdown, along with most of the club's staff. They were harsh decisions but there was no income coming into the club, the season had been stopped and there were no guarantees about when the new season would start or if any fans would be allowed grounds when it did. If ever there was an excuse for cost cutting it was then. All clubs were laying off staff, even the moneybags in the Premiership.
