Games in hand can be a hindrance though, playing twice a week on heavier pitches, time of year when injuries and suspensions take their toll. Meanwhile we have a week before Woking to get injured players back and KP to work with them on the training ground.

Totally agreed. End of feb we will have played 4 games, Wealdstone have 7.

woking have oxford to play on tuesday night. a real big game for them where you think they,d give everything in it. at least we should be fresher on saturday if we can keep the training injuries down anyway.

I hope KP can put behind us, Pools' habit of disappointing in such games.

I know exactly what you mean and our record at Woking is poor. On the positive side, we have won three of our last four games and KP seems to have restored fight and self-belief into the players. Having said that, I hope I'm not administering an early kiss of death.

Our record at Bromley was dreadful, so lets hope this is a massive turning point against some of these teams. Are we starting to put together a team worthy of a club our size?

We a big fish in a small pond.
Hopefully the penny has dropped and we set about competing with them poorly supported teams in division 4.
Have a right good go at this division from August.
Mr Ds play off dream still alive mathematically.
UTP.

And the band of play off dreamers appears to be growing Kev.

Unfortunately too many teams have games in hand on us. We would have to keep winning almost every week, just got to beat woking first.

they have games in hand but playing tuesday/saturday week in week out to play them could take their toll on them. its an odd league where rarely you see teams go on long runs of winning games. i,m certainly not going to dream but happy we are improving and hope to finish on a high even if we miss out by a few points and places. its how KP and the players react when we lose a game that will be interesting especially if we go on a mini unbeaten run before it.

It can take the toll on them all they want but they also have points on us, and a better gd, play eachother etc, just for example Aldershot 8 points clear of us have 1 game in hand and play the next 3 at home. Gateshead games in hand play at home Tuesday. Altrincham 9 3 games in hand i think play Tuesday at home to Dorking.

We would have to have a ridiculous amount of results go in our favour and probobly have to win another 3 or 4 on the bounce to get anywhere even close to the top 7. Then keep that form going after that.

Then on top of all that we would have to hope none or maybe one at most the teams around us, didnt do a similar run to us. If we won our next two it might make things more interesting though, if a few teams up top dropped points.

Think we'll finish comfortably top half, all we can do is try to keep winning games and those above us keep taking points off each other.
Play offs are not out of reach but nor yet is relegation.

I’d be happy to use the rest of the season to fine tune a team for next season, get in and be ready…which is what Lee should have done but didn’t.

So Dixon was a decent keeper after all.

The save he made from their free kick just outside of the penalty area was out of this world. There aren't many keepers at any level that would have kept that out.

He didn't mess about with coming off his line. His throws for quick breaks were great. His goal kicks were - well he needs to work on them - but bollocks to that - he played a blinder.

Maybe it's combination of having 2 solid centre halves in front of him, coupled with working with a new goalkeeping coach, that has helped to restore his confidence- long may it continue!

Weren’t Pools top of NL at the start of the season then Dodds and Mancini got injured and they went on a downward spiral ?

that was the problem of having a side that more or less picked itself with sub standard back up players replacing them. could have been worse if manny d had joined dodds being out for the season.
