He's a winger so might provide ammunition for Duffus though I am praying Manni D will be fit.

Positive signings, tighten up at the back and a bit of pace out wide, didn't take KP long to see what's needed in those areas. Hopefully he drops the pairing of Wallace and Featherstone as holding midfielders too.

We now have two man mountain proper centre backs. These two will be instrumental in keeping clean sheets that's for sure. Welcome Luke lad

Need some full backs to try stopping crosses coming in as the current ones can't do it!

I hate that... Yeh errr nooo just delighted to be hear spoke with the gaffer and cant wait to get started.

Just why ? the standard script is boring... i really dont think we need a player interview. What are they going to say. Imagine they told the truth.

" well actually im well out of favour at the club that pay me wages and me agent has punted me down here"

but anyways what a cracking pair of signings considering the club has been a mess and even Raj' words stating the obvious that the recruitment has been hampered by all this too. Not sure why as its his fault he put the club up for sale ?

Kahn is a good enough player and Waterfall is an excellent defender for this level. These 2 should help alot !

Joe Monks is responsible for player recruitment - haven’t you heard? Very old school to suggest that the manager (make that coach) makes all the decisions, especially when he hasn’t been here 5 minutes. Strengthens the right areas and hopefully one or two more to come.

A good quality keeper is needed, we might really strengthen up then, with these two central defenders.

Although it has not been openly stated, reading between the lines, I get the impression Luke W is a permanant signing. In the interview he talks about next season. A good solid Centre Back. So if he plays alongside Tom Parkes, is Manni O out of the team? Just wondering.

Didn't suggest KP actually recruited anyone, just that we're strengthening where presumably the manager has thought we needed it and informed Monks of what he'd like.
Refreshing to hear that Raj isn't responsible for every signing mind.

A good job, I say. Just think of the abuse he would get if one of his signings had a bad game. Nope he should stick to keeping the terraces swept and finacing the club.

I dont think Mani O is out of the equation .. Yet

a back 3 of Waterfall - Mani O - Parkes is probably (on paper) the strongest we have had for a long long time.
if we can get the 2 wing backs correct either side of them then its a really really good start.
Hendrie isnt ours dont forget too, (although i think he may be offered something come the end of season).

Plus if Lacey sticks around it gives us some backup in the squad- just look at how the season can change when a decent CB or both go missing for what ever reason !

I really hope we see another ball winning CM come into the mix and another pacey attacker who like run and get shots off

On 5 August 2014, Waterfall moved to League Two Macclesfield Town on a one-month loan,[20] with manager John Askey requiring him to cover during the search for a new defender, with several trialists failing to be up to his standard. Was he being lined up by Askey before he was sacked ?

I am quite excited by this guy. He is on loan from Grimsby and has played for the Pakistan national side. He has a habit of scoring on his debut and is certainly no mug. Great signing in my opinion. Hope he plays against York. I am excited

Poor Dodds has been forgotten, let's hope he returns as good as he was, then it would be a top defence.

Would like to see Burton given a try even at right back, he played the game in a similar fashion to Dodds and a few games would surely bring him on.

Be surprised if Lacey stays, too many injuries, he would be a good addition like you say. Hendrie is unlikely to stay afer this season surely?

Waterfall has been brilliant for us. No more so in the play off semi final away at Holywood Allstars FC. It was 4-4, lst minute of extra time, penalties looming. We get a throw in half way in their half. Cropper has a massive throw on him. Luke goes up, stands on the penalty spot. The rest is Grimsby folklore.

Khan's been unlucky with injuries but there's a player in there. Needs game time. Quick and direct and can finish.

Good luck poolies for the rest of the season, we will be keeping an eye out for your results from now on.

listening to the interview i think that was the case. he mentioned something about the move getting a mention a few weeks back which seemed to co incide with the time askey was with us.

he can be a bit of a niggly git as well and not liked by opposition fans. same with waterfall. makes a change signing players our opponents will really dislike and hope in the future that we are the most hated club in the league as that means we are doing a job on opponents and not lying down on our backs waiting for our tummies getting a rub. philipps dirty dozen would go down well with me rather than a comment like poor old pools they try to play good football but we beat em.

Waterfall averages close to a yellow card every 4 games, every team needs a nasty bustard prepared to do the dirty work. All this tippy tapping out from the back every time doesn't work without the technically excellent players that the likes of Pep have at his disposal.

nobody has ever scored either when the ball is in clarence road. at times our defenders give the impression of being unable to kick it that far.
