Nice bit of good news.

Option - bugger that, get him on a three year contract and make him the highest paid player.
Then when the vultures come circling, we potentially receive a mill + rebuild the team and properly kick on!

Get him tied down to a three year contract by all means. Mancini is an outstanding player at our level but is yet to prove himself in the FL so he wont be valued at anything like a million.

Not yet he won't
But I'm sure Peterborough paid big money for the likes of Aaron McClean, George Boyd and Craig Mackell- Smith, who from memory where all picked up from non league clubs at the time.

The game has changed - the club with money these days are willing to gamble on the next Vardy. Its fact.

I wouldnt be surprised if Mancini finishes this season on 10 goals -10 Assists and his stats speak volumes at this level ! L1 club for sure will be picking up on it and no doubt have a punt on him, wont be for the 7 figures but id imagine we could potentially make him one of the highest sold players Pools have sold. Stockport or a Wrexham with cash would be a nice situation for us.

he is better than those two clubs whose main thing about them is the money they have to burn with fans on his back if he darews to make a mistake because he has come from poor little hartlepool and is not worthy.

Just for context on the fee we're likely to get for Mancini. Josh Stokes, 19 yo attacking midfielder from Aldershot who has 13 goals in 26 games has just been sold for around £250,000 to Bristol City. Ben Krauhaus, 19 yo midfielder from Bromley has 5 goals in 28 games has just been sold to Brentford for around £200,000. Mancini is 3 years older than both and doesn't have the English premium so we'll get nowhere near 7 figures but definitely low 6.

We need to show ambition n hold on to our better players. Build a team around them.
Fully fit Mancini n Dodds going into new season.
Deadwood out. Better in. = bigger support n more potential cash from fa cup run.

We've seen what happens when we go down the route of replacing shit with shit and lose 1300 fans.

Hope doesn't = success.
Ambition without breaking the bank can be achieved.
Just my opinion like.

He will only sign another if he wants to stay.

Stokes signed on a 2 year contract back in the summer and Krauhaus signed a new contract with Bromley in November. So both had at least as long a contract as Mancini (when we activate the option) when sold.

He will sign another contract if there is a clause to say he gets a share of the transfer fee.

Agree we should try to hang on to our better players but when a "big club" comes knocking, waving cash, you cant blame players for wanting to go. If you were Mancini and Sunderland made an offer would you say "No, I want to stay at little Hartlepool"?

I more meant when clubs in the same division get our players. No probs with the big boys like.

Hope and ambition are pretty much the same aren't they, neither guarantees anything at all. Raj said he had authorise a budget that would be sufficient for a promotion challenge at the start of the season, surely that's hopeful and ambitious?

But how the hell did Anthony Jesus Gomez Mancini ever end up at our club?
Obviously has the talent to play much higher, and it stands out like a sore thumb.
After Burnley released him would you believe he was actually a free agent without a club for over 6 months. :o
Total mystery this one can't make any sense of it tbh.

Heard it from a good sauce (HP) that his parents only ever praised him when he was wearing his favourite blue and white striped top. The rest of his childhood was pretty miserable.

Just need to make sure he is not poached by Sheff Weds or Brighton

that could be the case of having 10 players on the pitch plus mancini. a lot do not like that sort of thing and prefer another dull player to make up the 11.
