On the subject of Barbers, Turkish barbers everywhere you look. Dunno about Hartlepool but where I live there is five within a short walk to each one. I cant help thinking there's a rabbit off.

How do they get visas is what I would like to know, there isn’t a shortage of barbers and it’s not exactly a skilled trade is it ?
If we are granting visas to barbers how many other unskilled persons are getting them ?

Some are busy…some are empty every time you pass them…in fact are there any home grown barbers left?

Think a lot of them are used to launder money- a bit like a lot of the takeaways and hand car washing places that spring up, and rarely have any customers. They also tend to be manned by people of questionable origin, who are then openly exploited.

Never understood people using those car hand washers. Either do it yourself or don't bother!

I have used the drive through car wash on the docks, just off the roundabout with giant marbles at the bottom of Powlett Road. Fella there works his plums off, and does a pre wash before you go on the conveyor through the car wash. It's the only place I'll have my car washed for me!

But no one likes to say anything.
We are generally a trusting law abiding electorate who made the great mistake of expecting our senior politicians and their minions to share our values.

they are everywhere like nail bars. just wonder if they are owned by one single person or group and are used to traffic people about and into this country. those nail bars also seem to be staffed by people from the far east. used the one up the headland awhile back as i was killing time before a match but cost about a fiver more than the lass charges me back home. at least they obliged by not scalping me like some of the other customers in these places are. refused a shave as i have a fear of cut throat razors after watching far too many horror films.

Not for long because they are planning card only payments which will put a end to cash. Problem is it will put a end to freedom and enslave the population rakxe

Just think, your bank instead of knowing what you spend some of your money on will then know what you spend all of your money on.

I imagine ‘Randy Bollocks Porn Purveyors’ and fellow traders will notice a sharp drop in demand for their products from their ‘customers’.

I know of a fish & chips / kebab shop that in seven years of driving past it, I have NEVER seen a single customer in the place.

Me and our lass thought we were maybe just driving by it at "slack" periods, and decided to try different times in case we were imagining it. We weren't.

Good Friday 2022, 12:30pm. Not one single fucking customer.

There'd likely have been police horses to control the queue at Verrills just 6 miles down the road...

Always a wind up with our lass is the Central Estate.
There was always someone who lived on the ‘Central’ who went to her and her mates school and they’d be talking about so and so whose dad a had a shop that sold so and so and each one would add another fact to confirm it .
One night in the Pot House on a wind up they were there and said I knew a lad from the Central (lie) and asked me what his name was ….. I said Bob Tangleweed… they’d never heard of him (obviously) …..then I said his dad had a shop….(lie) and the chain was being built…what sort of shop they chimed….(time to end it)…. so I said a pubic wig shop …that ended it.

So they need someone to deliver them….do the maths.

As for my thoughts, everyone you meet has the same thoughts….the only people who don’t are the naive woke, the politicians and the state.

And when you try again the price has gone up or you have put your card details in then it crashes and you have no idea if the booking went through. It’s a waiting game waiting for confirmation or contacting the bank to see if the money was taken from your account.

In my secondary school mostly male teachers who were all strict disciplinarians, story was some even got thrown out the SS for being too cruel.
Seriously it didn’t do us any harm, in todays woke world they would soon be out of a job.

I started senior school after passing the 11 plus in the munis sixties. All men apart from one woman teacher and a lot were ex forces too.
Most of them you wouldn’t dream of crossing, disruption of a lesson was verboten!
I got the strap on my first day there for fighting… I was told that it was an inauspicious start to my education in this establishment …and the he expected trouble when gingers argue.

just imagine though how cushy it would have been in our days if we had todays woke lot as teachers. the ultimate punishment is now exclusion which many of us would have done our utmost to receive.

Nasty horrible cruel school teachers from 70s 80s. Every school had a few back then but also had a few really good teachers.

I must admit the ‘strap’ was an ‘incentive’ to comply

I used to get a £1 off other pupils for taking the blame and getting caned for what they had done. I was always getting the cane and often 6 of the best.

I have literally just got back from North Gare….. eased up a bit, I fell for it and the rain ambushed me on the path up from the golf course…just been on Amazon to order waterproof over trousers…No good having a waterproof top and your nether regions exposed to the weather banghead
Even Ratboy and Ruby are ignoring me now…..

Go the whole hogg and get the bright yellow hat coat and trousers just like the fishermen. At least then you could put Ratboy and his Wife in the two big pockets.

Actually I used to wear them in a previous life…minus the hat….and scarf around your neck underneath….and the fecking sea water always got down your neck regardless.
One lad I worked with got issued with a chit to get some wellies from stores when he joined us and he came back with them and pulled them on…he walked off in front of us doing mock dancing in the rain in his new wellies…. However…. what he didn’t notice was the fact that when issued from stores they had an 18 inch length of string tying the boots together when hung up in the stores.
We let him walk about all day with this length of string connecting the boots intact and he never noticed….till we told him 6 hours later.
