Visiting a couple of years ago..me and the wife and her sister and husband….so me and the brother in law got ahead of them and he called me back to look in a shop window …so I back tracked and we stood there looking.

tbf Amsterdam has some fascinating buildings and lovely canals...Much better for a couples break than say Paris imo..And i like the Dutch.

Agreed Sussex - quite like the Dutch - one of the few countries on mainland Europe that don't treat us with utter disdain, when they clock your English.

I spent a week there with my ex about twenty years ago. Had a great time. Amsterdam was great once you got off the beaten track and weren't paying tourist prices. Also jumped on the train and saw a few other places and the locals were sound.
