I see goffy on twitter is saying Ronnie has been interviewed, as good a bloke as Moore is this would be ridiculous surely. A 70 year old who's not managed since 2016 really would be scraping the bottom of the barrel!.

He did a great job keeping us up in 2015 but people forget all about the following season. Pools were 22nd and heading for relegation again when he left by - ahem - 'mutual consent' in February 2016. Craig Hignett kept us up that year - we finished 16th.

Apart from a brief stint with Eastleigh Ronnie has done nothing football related since. Apart from being a cheap option there's nowt else to recommend him.

Given the clip of our current squad.
The great escape part two would be a bigger achievement.

That so called great escape was so flukey. Look at the stats, we were shit but Cheltenham were suicidal and more shit.

Total pisstake…can see the scenario now, we avoid relegation by the skin
Of our cocks, Ronnie is hailed as a hero and this is seen somehow as a success

Minimal investment next year and Ronnie is sacked October time with us 19th and out of the cup again

If this is the sort of attitude as I said before just pack it in and start again

I really cannot see the fans being enthralled at just avoiding the drop, challenging for the play offs should be the bare minimum of our ambitions.

The great escape part 2 would definitely skip the theatres and head straight to betamax.

Westgarth is coming back, management by seance, why not?…… some of the rumours are more incredible than this.

Sarll then Phillips turned it down, Phillips especially was very close. Moore to be announced within 48 hours unless he changes his mind as well.

Quite a bit of back tracking on the Ronnie Moore rumours now. One of a few in consideration.

I'd rather stick with what we have ATM, Lennie and Sweeney know the players and their weaknesses and strengths, can't see anybody coming in who will make a marked difference.

Yeah I’d saw something about Pete Jameson going back from his loan to join Darlo. Would be pretty happy with it if it happened and hopefully means we can bring in a new keeper, surely cant be too hard to find one better than what we have now!

On Ronnie, really desperate appointment if it happens. Going from a 76 year old who hadn’t managed in 19 years, to a nearly 71 year old who’s been out for 8 years! If it did happen, combined age of our managers since the start of last season would be 313 years, in less than two seasons!

The bookies must be having their usual field day. 3 alleged hot favourites in a matter of days. No doubt it'll be someone else tomorrow. They don't even have to do anything - just wait for a name to be mentioned, slash his odds and watch the mug punters pile on.

The track record for guessing the next managerial appointment on The Bunker you have to say has been largely not successful. Plenty of names bandied about but then someone out of the blue. What worries me now is not so much what happens at Ebbsfleet at the weekend but next Tuesday at home against The Perma Tan Man and Kiddy. Pools on stream and Phil Brown and his assistant Dean Holdsworth at The Vic. Oh dear you can guess what I am thinking. He will wish to inflict yet more humiliation upon us. It will be personal as well. I have to ask how the hell have Kidderminster Harriers managed to get those two. Agreed their track record might not be brilliant but they are big names of sort. Willing to be educated on this please.

Never mind how they got them just thank our lucky stars we did not.
The last person you want at your club is dean holdsworth!

A bastad manager with a touch of Discipline could be all that is needed to finish 5th bottom.
Askey n LL clearly lack this old leadership.

Next 2 games are mega in my book but I expect that poster to say relegation I sent done in January if we don't get any wins.
bbolt

One of the journalists saying moore close to getting the job. Also said two came for a interview and then turned it down. Think he meant to say two managers with common sense then turned it down.

just how despirate are we going to get by living in the past. if the club want to do that let us pay on the gate again and less other boxes to tick just to see a game of football. LL stated that he did not know how many games he would be in charge. 1,2 or 3. that was up on saturday so have we had numerous kick backs from people being interviewed.

The Fact the 2 main candidates we had lined up turned it down says it all really !(Sarll and Hurst is the 2 i heard it was). Phillips still in the running but dont think he would be the type of manager to take a month by month contract tbh. Ronnie will take it - be bagged come end of season when hopefully the take over is done and dusted !

Its not a new manager we need - its new players. The state of the team at the minute is beyond troubling. The new additions are a welcome bonus. They are the type of lads we need which again is good because someone has done some good work to get them here.
Need more of it. Plus need the lads who are not pulling their weight out the door.

Hopefully once and for all Featherstone is shown the door and we can finally build a new team around a really good CM pairing including Mancini.

Its hard to think that minus Dodds and Mani D - this team was chasing and quite successfully hunting down top spot at the start of the season !

So am I correct in assuming that Duffus is rated by those who have seen him? The highlights show him missing sitters on Saturday but obviously 8 minutes of highlights dont give a true picture. Did anyone on here actually see Duffus play and if so what did you think of him?

watched the Fylde game and he played some neat stuff - showed for the ball and put a decent cross into the box. He is no Luke Armstrong but im sure he will be better than Umerah and Wreh

Ive seen him play against us. Also seen him play for Cheltenham where he was a handful in that game.

He was good enough to gain a loan move to DCs title winning Stockport also so give him a few more minutes and he will be sure to get some goals for us.

Duffus seems more like a second striker/link up man than a out and out goalscorer. Think him and Mani D will work well together.

I would like to see more of this sort of player i.e good age, experience and played at a higher level coming into the club.

we are not going to go anywhere even at this level bringing in youth loan players. This level has gone up a notch and its simply not a place for young guns to cut their teeth like it used to be. Ill add to that by saying there is an exception in that if you are of a very very good calibre of scholar you might just find yourself in the starting 11 of a good side. Our philosophy under Raj has been quite shocking. Hopefully new owners and new CEO plus the new manager will have us back to the way we where before in not just bringing in any old shite.
