The guys running the club, Trying to improve it.
Talking commonsense, Seems without the EGO of some we know.
Very interesting listen, And on the face of quite open.

Looks like American money backing them, their reference to their investors calling it ‘football’.
There’s money there.
They did say the club wouldn’t have able to pay the wages if they hadn’t

its what i keep saying when fans bang on about our gates. we,d be better if we halved the gates tomorrow if investment improved. its a funny old game now where fans do not matter like they once did and the numbers dictated what league you played in.

At our level it’s went from a business (supporters) to a hobby for those who can afford to buy success, till they get bored that is.
Clubs have act like cheap tarts picking up clients to take over and keep us in the manor to which we are accustomed….or would like to be accustomed….the paying fans are just extra’s.

If pools gates dropped to 1500 for the bext season trust me, gates would all of a sudden be the excuse. When teams budgets are anything from 500k to 1.5 million in this league having 4000 to 5000 makes a huge difference.

Depends on club total budgets and debts too, if loads has to be spent on non essentials and / or paying off debts there's less to spend on the team. Plus it's spending the team budget wisely, there's a few websites have Lacey and Cooke in the top 100 div 2 wages last season qouting £2600 and £2300 p/w respectively. Could be somewhere near the mark or a million miles out, but, if true then huge waste of money. And they're both still here, although they'll have had a wage cut they'll still be on a good wedge one would think.
So gate money just goes into club coffers rather than team budget alone, bit like road tax and NI just go into Government overall pot rather than being spent on roads, health and pensions.

Thing is though if we all said right mass boycott how long before the club went bust? So even though its not as important as it once was, still massive for clubs like us.

When raj gave an interview on the radio he said something along the lines that he could not believe previous owners were paying out 1500 plus for players at this club. Now obviously he might of changed his opinion on that but i cant see he would then start paying out2500 or whatever for bang average lads.

t he club could double the admission fee to redress the balence between not having a money bags owner and making the gate money count more. i,m sure that would go down well even if it was guarenteed that the extra money would go into the playing budget.

Think it would probably halve the attendances, 40 bar plus wouldn't be affordable or acceptable to most I'd guess.

It’s delusional to think anyone would pull out that much…imagine if like me you took your kids…..l couldn’t justify pulling out £160 for two matches a month…utter nonsense.
