Hope he can stay fit and not join the constant ongoing injury list! Could be just what we need at the back. Someone on twitter thinks Courtney Duffus is joining from barrow as well

From that picture looks like he's been a naughty boy and is playing for a prison Xl- reminiscent of the Porridge Christmas Special, with Fletch as a coach!

Another player with no heart coming from a team bottom of their league. I mean Scottish championship is equivalent to national league.

You're right. He's great that's why he's been snapped up by another club from the same league.

27 league appearances in 2.5 seasons for livingstone. Can't get in the team? How do you know the lad? You watch him week in week out?

He had long term injuries which explains his lack of games. Do you think he is Scottish hence the lack of heart sctatchinghead he is English.

He fractured his ankle thirteen years ago. He can't get in a side bottom of the league. How many clubs has he been released by?

You could ask yourself the same questions. And by the way, Livingston have been in the SPL the whole time he's been with them.

He was a regular player for Bristol Rovers, Exeter, Carlisle and Orient. I'm hoping he signs as we need to strengthen the defence.

Subbed at half time in his last match. Dodgy knee last 2 seasons. If their manager, who by the way signed him, thinks he is well experienced, loves the life up there, thinks his side are better with him in the team and he is a leader on the pitch.......why would he with his side side bottom of the table let him go?

Maybe they have a centre half doing a good job in the first team so Parkes opportunities have been limited. Not every team has a revolving door for their central defenders. The fact is, no one actually knows so to damn him before he's kicked a ball for us strikes me as being a tad unfair.

I read on the Livingston board that he is one of their top 3 earners.
Suppose if they've decided they're doomed, getting a big earner off the wage bill, who hasn't played many games, is a better idea financially.

Maybe he's sick of playing the same teams 3/4 times per season and looking forward a new challenge in life like most humans and jobs. Also maybe closer to home for him.....

We're desperate for a couple of defenders who can deal with set pieces because we don't have any right now. Every time we concede a corner or a free kick 30 yards out we're all thinking the same thing (even against Oxford) - and that's not good.

We need a couple of players who can read the game, watch for runners and have a half a clue where the center forward is. It looks like this lad, at this stage in his career (he's 31) is a professional and knows what he's doing.

If he's fit and solid at the back he'll improve us - If he's not he'll probably be off after a month.

Cant get in the team - he started their last match??? And, hes played just shy of half their SPL games this season.
Who should we go for instead, were a struggling NL team whos going to come? Anyone whos a 1st name on the teamsheet at amy club at or above our level is not likely to be available and within our budget, so where do we go?

He was good enough when in League 2 and got a move to league runners up Exeter. He isnt by any means a dud !

and exactly given the fact hes played in the SPL this season a good amount of times shows again he can probably handle this level. I know we have seen some scottish shockers from the lower division etc but the SPL is definitely above the NL in England.

these are the lads we need. 31 experienced and played at a good level ! Mirfin springs to mind.

Welcome and good luck. Wonder if Pruti out is the next move we see, and do we change Saturday's winning team?

Fair play to Raj. As he's half-way through the exit door I wouldn't have been surprised if any new signings were loan players at best, but Parkes has got a permanent deal (not that there's any detail on its length). The Parkes signing, plus Raj taking the big decision to sack a manager on a long term contract and look to recruit a replacement says something positive about his intentions.

You'd like to think there's been discussions on current activity with the consortium, but I wonder if a takeover is quite that close.

Yep, Hendrie to right back seems likely, though Stephenson has looked better in that position than most who've been tried there this season.

Great endorsement from the Livingston manager:
https://livingstonfc.co.uk/tom-parkes/

Can only hope he bucks the trend with players we sign who have long-term injury problems... think the last one who did was Gordon Watson, and that was 20 years ago! :?

Parkes has been in the Livingston match day squad 17 times this season, but if my maths are correct has only played a grand total of 247 minutes.
Still.. lets see how he does.

yeh just weird isnt it that the so called out going chairman is sacking managers and bringing in perm player signings. its all good tbh but just shows me Raj isnt really wanting to leave nor has the intention any time soon. Hope he scoops up some cash and throws more good players our way if hes serious about stick about.

hopefully more to be announced this week.

Parkes will need some time to adjust and get upto speed. might see him on saturday in the cup game

I get the feeling he ‘d love it to work out on the pitch, just to prove a point.
