Or both?
Mags fans banned from public transport to match at Stadium of Light.
Surely the wise thing would be to put a police presence on the buses and trains rather than a blanket ban? What about elderly or less mobile who don't drive?

How do you identify them…. are they bar coded?
Utter nonsense, can’t be enforced in practical terms unless you act like a prick and draw attention to yourself.

If you’re about your lawful business in an orderly manner, how can you be stopped?

That’s a profile of 50% of them then.

The thing is they already know those likely to cause bother so why inconvenience everyone for the sake of a handful of idiots?
How is a non driving dad with his kids going to get there if they can't use trains or buses?

Still not the point, why single out football supporters like that and who the hell has the right to deny the use of public transport to a group of people going about their lawful business.
Can you imagine any other group being singled out in such a way who’d tolerate it?

Because for once the Police have used their experience and anticipated the problems it would cause. There are nearly 8 years of pent up anger since they last met and to some a potential scrap will be the highlight of their day.

As there would be many using the same route it makes sense for those who want to do other things and travel safely tomorrow.

If people want to use the free buses all well and good but the principle of forcing one group of people not to use public transport is a step too far.
If you can’t see the principle in this case I’m worried.

A mate of mine from work who is a Mag has to be at St James Park to get his bus between 8:30 and 9:15, a whole 3 and a half hours before kick off for a 15 minutes or so journey

So if you live a 20 min bus ride away say in Washington you've got to get to Newcastle to get a bus back to SOL? Absolute abuse of power imo, wonder what legislation they are following to allow this? And for the environmentalists, it can't be very green can it?
