The good news is he's definitely not ga-ga  Talks a lot of sense and makes it clear it's a very short-term arrangement till a new manager is appointed. Says Hendrie and Crawford are in contention for Saturday but makes no mention of loan players being recalled by Pools.

Good interview that. He's been to a lot of games this season so knows what the issues are.

Reckon that should he manage a couple of clean sheet victories in the next few matches, might be worth keeping him on until the end of the season.

If he can manage a couple of clean sheet victories he deserves the freedom of Hartlepool.

He dismisses the whinging about injuries and explains where he is concentrating his attention. Let's see if he gets a reaction from the players. I feel that if he doesn't get the reaction he is looking for, the players will get a reaction from him.
He won't stand for any nonsense.
Go for it LL.

As LL said in his interview he could be the gaffa for 1,2 or 3 games.
We play 3 games this week.

Their fans aren't sure whether the approach is from us, Salford or someone else. Tom Crawford is one of his ex-players.

I was never nervous of his appointment, he goes back some time and always talked sense on the game, if he can’t get them to respond we might as well sell them for Corned Beef.

Don't expect an immediate impact.

Auld Len never played the game professionally.
Used to be a old school schoolteacher.
So presume he is skilled in the use of detention and the cane as appropriate.

We could always sign a top ex player, but they seem to fail on a regular basis.

Karl robinson in talks with salford. They sack managers quicker than we do both basket case clubs at the minute.

Robinson seems a good fit, Will almost certainly stop their slide.

You would think so but it doesnt look like salford are one for letting the manager make the decisions, seem to have a lot of input from others. It wouldnt surprise me if in a years time this lot didnt go pop.

Got to agree Billy.
Could see the ManU boys getting bored and walking away. Whilst they've risen up the leagues, it's built on sand and their attendances are embarrassing. Could be the new Rushden and Diamonds.

Any manager that takes that job is on a hiding to nothing - with those jokers telling him what to do, after every game. Reckon Mark Hughes will take over or similar. Wouldn't want Karl Robinson - odious and Scouse so won't get the job

But we need one.
Fixtures on paper this month surely give a tad of hope n opportunity. Make or break time for sure.
We playing City on Saturday not Utd.
Oxford not Manchester. sctatchinghead
UTP.

Bottom line is that If can't win at least a couple of games in January, looking at those fixtures, then we deserve to go down- injuries or not against 4 pub teams.

Salford were the love child of frustrated Man U fans, a knee jerk spasm by a spoilt section of tedious Man U fans.
It was obvious the same fans when circumstances changed, would be drawn back into the orbit of Old Trafford once their attention seeking hissy fit died down.
Just another project club that are flooded with daft money till the novelty wears off and there’s no audience of any substance to justify leaving the life support turned on.

no salford were the second man.u tribute act. the first was FC United of Manchester that was set up by unhappy fans of the mother ship. they cannot be that far from each other and only a couple of M60 road junctions from each other. both clubs have something else in common there gates are well down on what they were.
