Various conversations in the threads but who would the Bunkerites like as the next manager, personally I can’t currently think of one. I just hate the choice of one who has been sacked for run of bad results but again do you take the chance on a rookie manager. Turner and Cooper were both untried in EFL footy but both had success albeit both had funds. Scott got funds but all he did was sign his mackum mates. Hartley was a disaster gambled on players who turned out to be in general p*** poor.

Nice bit of compo for him, 3 managers jobs, might be time for him to go into punditry as most failed managers do.

you said it turner and cooper had funds. without the funds and being stuck out on a limb anyone will have a struggle on their hands. following gatesheads lead off the pitch might help somewhat in whatever they do which matbe be just down to scouting.

Gateshead have been bringing in good players for several years maybe its time we poached their staff instead of clubs taking people off us. They are doing somethi g right that we are drastically getting wrong.

There is no manager that would be able to sort out this bunch of misfits.

No but some expect miracles. They might give a bit extra for 3 or 4 games for sweeney but they will soon revert to type.

Steven Gerrard currently struggling in Saudi, no wins in nine games despite having one of the most expensive squads.

I’m sure we could match his salary…

Tony Sweeney looks odds on to get the poisoned chalice unless a takover is much closer than we think it is. Nobody should expect miracles from him - last time he took over in difficult circumstances (when Challinor left) he chalked up 4 straight defeats in League 2.

What's he going to do to make a difference this time around? Give Matty Dolan a start? Try a few more 17 and 18 year olds? The cupboard is bare :(

Couldn't do any worse than bring in Ronnie Moore again until the end of the season to stabilise things. Not sure if he would come back mind and probably wouldn't be too popular a choice on here. Sadly who realistically is going to come here?

I dont think any decent manager would come here given the current ownership issues unless he paid an awful lot of cash.

All logic points to Sweeney as a caretaker boss. Dont know why the club haven't announced it already.

For first time ever I think I genuinely don’t care
Whoever it is is set up for failure with the current regime and bunch of layabout’s playing

Really good chance we are getting relegated this year

The only hope of getting someone decent is if they think a takeover will go through. But like everything at this club nothing happens quick.

Askew always blamed the players often singling out individuals in the press.Praise in public reprimand in private. The core of this team gave us one of the best starts to a season we have ever had followed by a horrific run. It will be interesting to see what happens on Saturday.

There should definitely be enough in the squad, with some defensive additions to pick up some wins. Agree that Askey was too quick to criticise in interviews and possibly just added so much pressure on the players that they made so many mistakes through nerves and resigned to what was happening.

Regardless of who is in charge we desperately need a clean sheet and win very soon to stop the rot and change the mentality.

Give me a fucking break, askeys interviews were nothing more than honest, poor bloke must have been pig sick of seeing the same lazy
Idiots produce the same dumb mistakes….yes a lot of that is on him
In terms of recruitment and set up, but a lot of the goals were just basic common sense that Sunday league players would work out for themselves

There is stuff competion but Aldershot 2nd goal must take the award for shitiness from supposed professionals, believe that was Lacey’s highlight of stealing a living for 2 years

That’s a bit naive and piss poor man management to publicly criticise your ‘staff’ in any business….only a fool denigrates in public those that you expect to go out and do a good job for you…..even if they do drop a bollock.
Keep criticism behind closed doors because it does nothing for team morale to be portrayed by your own boss as useless, because the manager ends up shooting them selves in the foot,
Supporters criticise, managers organise.

A heads up about who's going to be picking the side for Saturday's game would be nice  Got to be clarified today surely?

The extended silence makes me wonder if Raj isn't trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat with a new manager announcement. If it was just going to be Sweeney holding the fort we could have been told that already.

The second goal Oldham scored at the Vic when Manni O passed to the opposing player and then put his head in his hands instead of chasing back must run it pretty close.

think the side pocks itself and the tea lady could do it. the interesting one is the tactics and formation we use without a single central striker on the books or anyone able to do that job on a temporary basis.

Wondering if Sweeney has turned it down and now Raj is fecked cos there is no one to be manager for Sat. Its the kind of thing that could only happen at Pools.

Sweeney is his assistant. I suspect Sweens will do all the donkey work under the watchful eye of LL.
I can't recall JA ever mentioning LL or referring to his input so he will get more involved now and hopefully that will make a difference. It certainly needs to.

Who is going to be good cop bad cop ? Lawrence is only a year older than Warnock, I can’t see him standing on the touchline screaming at the players, he’ll catch pneumonia !

He didn,t have to chase back the player was a good 5 yds in front of him.
All he had to do was show him outside, Pretty basic stuff.

Having watched game after game Ive come to the conclusion basics are NOT worked on.

Who is going to be good cop bad cop ? Lawrence is only a year older than Warnock, I can’t see him standing on the touchline screaming at the players, he’ll catch pneumonia !

Lawrence knows more about football than i will ever know, And the majority on here.
He will have been watching for sometime i would think, Will be interesting to see the formation.
Bearing in mind we need to tighten things up, And defending starts from the front.

And its not unusual for teams to start/play without a reconised CF.

As i said in an earlier post players are playing the rest of the season for their livelihoods.

Suggests to me we must be looking to appoint another manager sooner rather than later.

Or the consortium didn’t want to be lumbered with a manager not of their choice on a long term deal, Singh up until now hasn’t exactly made the right choices. I don’t know how much say Lee Rust has but Graham Lee maybe sour grapes said Rust shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a football club.
