What brilliant news the chance of proper Hartlepool lads at the very top of the club, what a Christmas present that would be.

So lets all continue as we are then.
After all thats what golden balls has just spouted to the media.

Short version:
Sweeny has said nothing is going to change.

It’ll be welcome, but it’s way beyond the horizon…this is the hard part coming up and with it apparently a consortium the haggling time gets extended..but we live in hope.

the consortium have proved they have the funds so yet again Raj does nothing not even a statement to the fans to keep us up to date. What he has done is saddle the club with more debt by sacking the manager that he gave a 3 year contract to . This man is totally useless as far as running a football club. the way things are going he will take us down again. We need a strong manager who is allowed to manage without interference from the likes of Lee Rust. We were told Lennie Lawrence was the boards adviser on football What has he done or the director of football that invisible no one seems to know his name.

What's he going to say that the Trust haven't already said?
Not totally useless at running the club, we're still solvent, and he did well appointing DC and backing him when we needed a striker to challenge for promotion. Managerial appointments and recruitment have been dire since unfortunately.
Given that he's said the funding is going to stop I can't see a new manager arriving during his tenure, putting Sweeney & Gucky in charge would be cost neutral n the short term I would imagine. Doubt Sweeney has a hard side to him but Gucky probably has, plus we may well see some of the fringe and youth players replacing some of the current tired, lazy parasites wearing the shirt.
Problems for me are at dressing room level rather than boardroom although new owners will be more than welcome by fans and I would imagine Raj himself.

So you’d advise we kept going as we are under Askey…?
Most people including Raj, thought Askey was a great signing as manager…it didn’t work out, so to save money you advocate we carry on plodding along the road to nowhere…really?
Fact is, he couldn’t afford to not sack the manger.

So if the consortium have the funds, when are they going to step up to the mark, who knows, but it takes time.

Can't see Raj being the cause of any delay to a sale, he wants out and wants to stop spending his money on the club.
The speed of due diligence and potentially an acceptable offer being made will be down to how fast the consortium want to move. In some respects maybe the consortium will slow things down as I suspect if we continue to struggle the cost to buy may fall.

Total guesswork this.

Our current form would see us relegated. Not very attractive to a potential buyer. Neither is the additional debt created by sacking another manager but it is by far the lesser of the two evils.

Regardless of boardroom politics we need to start performing as a team on the pitch. Maybe some of Askeys outcasts could return and improve things a bit, but it's f*cking desperate when we replace a striker with Brodie Patterson ffs - he wouldn't get a game t Sunday League level yet he seemed to be an ever prese t for Askeys match day squads.
I'd certainly look to recall Pruti and Dolan at least is a bit of an on field leader.
We're desperate for a striker in the next match as far as I can see, is there a kid worth a shot within the club?

there must a player at our level or the one above who has been frozen out or about to be replaced in january we could loan for at least a couple of months and not a kid either. we are not exactly going to take a play off place from some other side this season are we.

At least we'll find out the asking price through the grapevine now and see if he was telling the truth or overvalued the club wanting to make the profit.

Everything comes blinking into the daylight eventually, the annoying thing is a season that started so promisingly collapsed around us so quickly, it’s as though the Gods conspired against us by teasing us then putting the boot in. sctatchinghead

I was at Pools at the beginning of the season before Dodds and Mancini got long injuries, it was a a joy to watch. The season collapsed after the 2 injuries,we couldn’t find decent replacements ending up playing players out of position.

we were still conceeding poor goals though. for me the best game we played was the gateshead one that showed some grit and determination with the never say die attitude showing. even a really poor fylde team scored and possibly our first game at barnet showed us what the future was in store for us.
