An obedient footballer, is a happy footballer,
You’re not paid to think, that’s the managers job
Now go out and follow instructions.

Tough minded v tender minded. That’s what it comes down to. Get tough now Askey football is not a personality contest.

As long as their salary is in the bank are they bothered, they have a contract which guarantees them their salary for a set period of of time. When I was working I didn’t know sometimes from one week to another whether I would have a salary.

It's about time football contracts had performance related conditions attached to them.

the worst thing about it though is that they think they had put a shift in when we feel the opposite.

Pools players mindset = "What's Askey on about now?" "I dont give a fook, I just bank me wages"

I dunno about that. By all accounts a lot of them seem to be doing the minimum but they know they are undroppable. When we play solid opposition, some of our players go into their shell and just try to avoid blame for the inevitable defeat. The trouble is, with that attitude, we are reaching the point where almost every team we play is made to look solid opposition.
