Two generally mediocre teams with Oldham slightly less so. That’s said, Pools simply do not have a functioning defence. At 2-1 to them, the score is about right. It could easily be a lot worse.

Well let see what Manici can do. Since everyone is pinning the season on him.

1-3 There we go. Norwood grabs a second. Was it a good goal or did we give them it?

Has Mancini been brought on? Twitter hasnt said but then thats no surprise. I dont think Mancini will make a difference, just back from serious injury and surrounded by a bunch of demoralized, useless no hopers. Keep him on the bench until we play "the lesser teams". Although I am struggling to think of any "lesser" than Pools at the current time.

They'll just kick the shite out of him, we'll still lose and he'll be out for another three months. I know, I'm a real pessimist but for the life of me I cant see any reason whatsoever to be optimistic. I wonder if the bottom four are all losing? Fingers crossed/

He’s definitely livened up the team since coming on but no chances yet. Sorry to say it Onarise really is a liability.

Anyone from the consortium watching might decide to keep their money in their pockets. Feck, me, I'm depressed.

Get it cheaper?

Raj will soon have to pay any prospective owners to take it away for free.

Looking forward to post-match interview. Should be a laugh. Looking on the bright side, it was only 1-3. We are getting more used to conceding 4s aren't we? So, yeah pat on the back to the defenders.

Unless Oxford concede in the next five minutes or so, Pools have the honour of having the joint worst defence in the NL.

The sad think was, the Oldham players looked shagged after 60 minutes and we couldn't string a pass together or break them down. We are officially have to be the worst team in the league, Hampton and Richmond sit 2nd in the NLS and will be up for that game.

Already written that one off. As I say, cant imagine where the next win or draw is coming from. We really are excrement.

We’re in the Doldrum’s and there is no sign of us getting out of it in the foreseeable future.
We have a problem… a serious problem.

I really wish I hadn't bothered going even when we went 1-0 up I just knew what would follow. That's the worst Pools defence I have witnessed since I can't remember when.

That really was one of the shittest games of football ive witnessed in a hell of a long time and we lost 1-3 to a team almost as pathetic as us, we gifted their three goals as a late Xmas pressie to them. Just the absolute lack of quality from both sides made it so hard to watch.
This is also up there with the worst pools side I've seen, if not the worst. The keeper is hesitant, barely makes a save, doesn't often come for crosses and struggles to pass the ball 10 yards. The defence is an absolute shambles, Ferguson who is an awful defender at wing back having to fill in a back 3, that mixed with a left winger playing right wing back and Patterson having to play shows how desperate this situation is. Mani O usually the most reliable of the crap defenders starting to show why he plays at this level, that pass for the second goal is kids stuff, then his reaction to his pass where he stood holding his head, honestly man, if you lose it there try and close the lad down!! Brennan, ok on the ball but too slight and weak for this level. There is no leader and organiser at the back and it really shows. I think Dixon must have the most touches of any keeper in this league the amount it end up back at him.
Midfield, Cooke was embarrassing today, the lack of effort shown and lazy passing looked like someone who didn't want to be there, it's sad with him but there is a good player in there when he fancies it. Featherstone is just far too slow now, games like today show how little energy we have in midfield until manacini came on and actually showed some movement. Hancox in fairness was fairly busy in first half but tailed off.
Grey was probably MOM for his goal and effort but Umerah isn't a patch on Mani, he spends more time wrestling defenders then ending on his arse after they get the better of him.
Nothing is going to change though, not until Raj goes. I've also stuck up for Askey what with injuries etc hampering us but I just don't see any style or structure in his team, unless the plan is for players to constantly play backwards, play themselves into trouble, not show for the ball, show no movement, can't do the very basics of football and constantly make bad decisions. The goals against is an embarrassment, one clean sheet since he's been here is simply not good enough. If it wasn't for his 2 year deal and Raj not wanting to pay him up he would have been sacked anywhere else with his record of late. Another shit show in the life of being a pools fan!!

I only started going to Pools as a kid because the old man told me I mustn’t….which I found daft as his entire Saturday was built around going to Pools with his mates and they were out for the day…and night.

I had no option but to go. My mam gave me dad £20 and got told to take my brother's and me, then that started something. :angry-screaming: then it was every other away game in the car or on the train. fast forward 30 years and it like a addict, I go regardless when I can, home (cost a lot to travel up) the away cost a lot too... :angry-tappingfoot:

Our players must have sh*te for brains given the complete lack of passion and effort yesterday - given that Raj will probably take any offers for any players, wouldn't one expect them to be putting in some effort for the sake of their own careers - if not Askey's? Any club watching yesterday would have concluded that it wasn't worth watching any of them - and I include Mancini in that (sure he was awesome early doors this season - but what about the previous seasons and is he fully recovered?). And on the issue of Mancini, can anyone explain our substitutions yesterday - given that we were chasing the game (I use the word 'chasing' ironically) - we threw two young kids on against bruisers who were dominating (again, its all relative - Oldham were poor too - but at least they looked like they'd met each other before), and then we put on arguably our best player.

after yesterdays cock ups and insipid performance i am starting to worry about where we will end up at the end of the season now. all teams have players who are having off days but at pools its like a virus going through the whole team who are incapable of making things better for their team mates when this happens. bringing on two kids actually improved the side and if burton is seen as worse than patterson then its time to pack up.

we could have been no worse if those kids had started the game instead of being used as subs. at least mancini gave us some hope when he came on more than many of the others did.

IMO the players are bottom half of the national league standard. When Mancini came on thats when you could see the difference.
Beer helps! :obscene-drinkingcheers:
