Goes without saying we will concede first, probably in the first 10 minutes, and probably the worst player Iv'e ever seen in a Pools shirt Fondyup Flopalot to score it then after that it's anybody's guess, don't you just love being a Pools supporter. banghead

Pools 12 arrests Oldham 11 arrests. Blue flares behind the Rink End goal. Josh continues his late start to the season.

Chesterfield were going to grind us into the ground, they didn’t.
Now Oldham are going to blitzkrieg us and pinch Ward Jackson’s statue….sometimes predicting scores can be a frustrating business.

Mattock now knackered and gone back to Harrogate. I gather he was starting to play well for us, so naturally he's going to get injured. I guess if fit, Johnson will parter Manni O in the centre of defence. If Johnson injured then Christ knows? Maybe Ferguson with Paterson as left back? Dunno about you but I'm expecting a defensive master class.

Today 1-3, we concede after 10 mins. Umerah consolation penalty 90 min. Next match 2-0 Oldham. Both games defensive mistakes but this time nothing upfront with Umerah hustling with no end product. Grey not in the match . Plenty of chasing but no creativity
Post match Askey states I have no answers but can’t fault the effort. Pools nearer to the bottom but not in the bottom 4. Askey still keeps his job as Raj can’t afford to sack him. Crowd on the teams back and the majority of Bunkerites are in a bad mood apart from Hogan who states the players are giving everything. Just hope what I have written is total bullshi@. Delaney’s donkey had no answers but he had plenty of effort.

ess knows who will be left standing after todays game to play in the reverse fixture on saturday. anyone knows the league regulation about playing with crutches. just hope mancini is not pressed into action just because of the lack of bodies too early.

Could be any score giving the topsy-turvy turvy form of these two. Both sets of fans want major changes in January but don't expect pools to get anyone other than replacement loans. As usual the defence or lack of it is a major concern. Oldham have good recent away form but shite home form. I can see yet another 4 or 5 goal game with Oldam taking advantage of our last few standing defenders. I predict the same out come at Oldham. Another 6 points lost which would be catastrophic at this time. I am desperate for us to get a win today but to many players missing to achieve that or not. sctatchinghead

thing is that pools do not have the character of player to roll up their sleeves and make the best out of adversity like some other teams do. they give the impression of being beat before they go out and need something to go really wrong like the other day to change.

one player has been suspended already and again their fans are also not happy feeling they are underachieving with the players and size of squad they have. just wonder if this could be a good time to play them especially if we have a reasonable team out.

Have we got a reasonable team out? Manni D out injured and the defence sadly depleted as usual.

Funny thing is Accy I was looking at their site and they seem to think Oldam have the biggest budget in this league sctatchinghead

We then have to rely on Askey for picking a good team, then we are massively relying on the players to perform, which they will, when we are in the last 15/20 minutes of the game when we are about 2-0. :angry-tappingfoot:

possibly the one thing we have never had much of a gripe about is askeys team selection as its either been obvious or as now it picks itself. Would be great to discuss why certain ones are not playing whilst others are. Seems like an eternity since this happened apart from prutti.

Don’t like to look of that line-up, even if we don’t have many options in defence. Askey clearly doesn’t have a second choice formation as he is just shuffling people out of position to keep the back 5.

Hastie at RWB is a liability, Fergie also out of position at LCB. Paterson at LWB and we have Stephenson on the bench, he is young but surely better to play people in their positions. Could have switched to a back 4 of Stephenson, Brennan, Mani O, Ferguson.

totally agree especially about ferguson as he has been tried there before and is always found wanting. for me shuffling bodies about rarely works and you lose a decent player in one position to move him as a bad one in another.

unless he is 100 per cent match fit and rareing to go i,d leave him there no matter what the score is and give him a 10 minute cameo at the end.

1 nil win - Mancini off the bench to score with his first touch after 85 mins

All hell breaks loose and Pools keep a clean sheet after kicking one off the line in injury time, and we all have a very Merry Christmas!

To many mistakes in defence. We need a full time defence, not an amateure one, with one clean sheet in 25 games.

I wonder if they are deliberately trying to gety Askey sacked or are they just so pish poor they shouldn't be playing professional football?

I wonder that since October. Seems to be they can turn it on when they need too, admittedly after they concede 1/2 goals.

Well looking on the bright side we only conceded two which is better than last time out and we scored first for the first time since Adam was a lad.

Pools give the opposition a goal. I admit it is highly unlikely but I just have this nagging feeling. I cant quite explain it.
