Admitted on TV this morning she lied, she should be stripped of her title and pay the money back more so the PPE was unusable. I nearly put my foot through the TV listening to her and husband openly admitting they lied.
Former Tory peer Baroness Mone has admitted she lied and lied again as she conceded she stands to benefit from £60million in profit over a PPE contract at the height of the Covid crisis meaning a 30% profit.

Not only did she blatantly lie-- and should pay the money back PLUS interest. She should be stripped of her peerage and JAILED for deliberately defrauding the Tax payer

If that had been me or you, we'd be doing porridge already- it really boils my is how those with the most can do whatever they want without reprisal. Surprised she didn't come out and say that the money is just 'resting' in her account :angry-screaming:

Criminal investigations still ongoing for fraud. The ordinary man would end up in jail, she'll get a slap on the wrists and to keep the millions they made from it, and of course her title.
A perfect example of what is wrong with the corrupt abomination which is the HOL.

The £60 million (actually £59 million) made by Mone and her shyster husband on the contract is only part of it Jamie. The firm's full profit was closer to 50% of the contract value. Nice 'work' if you can get it!

Wasn't this MedPro company started up AFTER she got the contract. Never done any of this type of this manufacturing before and no wonder most was shoddy and unusable.

There were recognised UK companies not even offered the chance to tender whilst these shysters (put that arsehole Gove in that category) were given carte blanche to do as they wished with our taxpayers money!

Why is anyone the slightest bit surprised.
Our whole system is corrupt.

I rented my flat out for 15 months about 3 years ago, I didn’t declare it on my tax returns, I hold my hands up, guilty. I got a letter a few months ago from the HMRC, some how HMRC knew I had rented my flat out. I duly paid what I thought I owed in tax, nope they added interest and a fine which was about 30% of the tax I paid.
£25 billion was fraudulently claimed during Covid, it’s been written off, my income tax due was £1500, how much time, money and staff hours were involved in chasing me up ?
Will Mone be chased up as diligently as the HMRC chased me up for her companies excessive profits ?

I suspect that given the high profile this is being given now that the Westminster elite will now throw her to the wolves and she'll be made an example of.
They should be chasing down every penny of the taxpayers (not their) money illegally spent and using the full force of the law to punish those involved - won't happen because most se.nior government officials are likely to be implicated

Or they could close ranks and shield her saying it was an ‘honest’ mistake, if it was the average man in the street they would have been carted off already.it will be interesting to see what Gove has to say as he was involved as well.

The government has written off eye-watering bills for many other ‘schemes’ Track and Trace just under £40 billion, the £25 billion on fraudulent claims for the furlough scheme then there is the compensation to the contractors and landowners for HS2 not forgetting the £200 million to Rwanda which will fail. What Mone is allegedly done albeit wrong is small fry compared to the ones i mentioned.

Think they'll throw her to the wolves and hope that will be the finish of it.
Doubt the media will stop digging.
Surely the eye-watering amounts of money wasted or given to friends and cronies will never a matter for the Covid Enquiry, and hopefully following that the police?

Well done to David Conn for exposing this manipulative, greedy woman. As if her and her other half didn’t have enough money before all this.

Good watch, Alistair Campbell and Rory Stewart with their take on Mone, it only last a few minutes at the start.

Great watch and the disturbing thing about all this is nobody has the guts to hold their hands up and say I was wrong.

I understand the government are suing Medpro for £128 billion but have they not incurred a fairly hefty cost in still storing this poor quality PPE which should be paid by Mone & Co.

You'd think he could afford a shirt that fitted him. I was waiting for the buttons around his gut to shoot off and shatter the camera.

Sold the London House, it was up for £23 million but sold for £19 million, the yacht is currently up for sale, could be raising funds to defend the charges against them ?
