After a series of attacks on buses up the top of Owton Manor the bus services have been suspended, A bit hard on those who depend on the buses, but when Genetic dead ends run feral, you get problems.
It’s bad round Patrick’s shops from experience, the church is a regular target and buses standing have their engines turned off by youths …now it’s smashing bus windows.
I was based up there 2014-18 and it’s a shame because there are canny people up there but it’s always the minority who let things down.

I suppose stop and search for those in possession of a brain cell might help.

To be honest I found that most council estates gangs of youths congregate around the shops. i.e Jutland Rd, Miers Ave, King Oswy Dr etc. Problem is no patrolling police.

Patrick’s is bad, take it from me, been parked up there picking up the wife and the quicker I’m away the happier I am.
The police turn up and act like youth club stewards…no consequences nowadays.

We did,but didn't smash bus windows.

nothing new in any of this. been going on since the mid 60,s with attacks on bus crews, smashing windows and general vandalism. we ran 4 late night buses with an inspector on board and the police following the vehicles just to keep em going for the majority. local government reorganisation put a stop to the police escort quickly so they became a thing of the past.

Not just council estates, there are problems with youths/kids on the park behind Hartfields Nursing Home on Bishop Cuthbert.My daughter lived up there and got cartons of milk thrown over the house and through the letterbox at 5.30 in the morning.
