Quote..................We've launched a special family offer for our Boxing Day fixture at home to Oldham Athletic!

Home supporters can purchase two adult and two U14 tickets for £45, saving £5.

Wow! a whole £5 and how many will take up the offer? Now if it had been save £15 of even £20 quid?

These matches are the ones that can be money earners, but not being able to pay on the gate has killed that one off.
The casual/ part time( work commitments) fan are now virtually extinct.
As for buying tickets in advance, most casual supporters come on the spur of the moment or by chance….. it would help of tickets could be purchased at a more accessible location than the club shop/ ticket office is off the beaten track.
A more central location might be better…but that costs money…so forget it

It wouldn't be so bad if the ticket office didn't insist on demanding enough personal information to open a bank account for casual buyers. I've known there be about 10 in front of me in the queue and it taking 45 mins before I got to the counter. I've also known it stop completely because the network disconnected the printer - why they can't have a number of tickets pre printed for each area of the ground is a joke.
Ticketing and stewarding / policing is beyond a joke really.
Personally I wouldn't ruin anyone's boxing day by buying them a ticket and a fiver saving is no incentive at all.

It really does show the utter contempt for the supporters of this club... With all of the above mentioned.

See how many are there if the mighty Wealdstone beat us

Its ideas thought up by utterly clueless people. You might as well not offer an incentive if their isnt really one on offer.

Totally utterly useless on every front. Wonder how many supporters / potential supporters have been lost over the last 5 years. This club definitely works against it customers and its profit margins. Its the blind leading the blind at every level.

After Saturdays game, supporters in the Mill House couldn't get through the car park and cars parked in there couldn't get their cars out.
Apparently this was the Safety Officers ruling to allow their supporters out first.
Everywhere else the away supporters are held back to allow the home supporters to get away first.

What has the Mill House got to do with away supporters?
Who is the Safety Officer, Keith Lard?

Gates to car park on both sides locked for a good 20 mins or so after full time. Loads in their cars sat going nowhere while the jobsworths on the gates insisted they were following orders of the safety officer.
I'd say every away game I've been to if therees been a hint that there could be trouble afterwards it's us the visiting supporters who've been held back.

Some things just baffle me at this club. My dad won the match day lottery on Saturday. I went round to the office after the game to collect it and everything was locked up, tried ringing and got answerphone. Asked the only steward around at the car park entrance she had no idea and sent me off to the 1908 bar to which I got no answer. Thought sod it we will pick it up next game. My dad rang up today and said it would be ready for next game but they weren't sure how much it was as it's not counted yet. So what happens if a chesterfield fan bought a ticket and won??. I won it years ago and went round after the game, picked up the winnings straight away, why are things so unprofessional now, it's a joke the way the club is run. Even a northern league club would manage to sort stuff like this out on the day. Another thing to add to the list of crap served up bu HUFC!!

Too many of the matchday backroom staff simply want to get away from the club as early as possible, this includes Tokyo Rose, that new lass, Kelly, who's in charge of all the bars etc, the bar staff in the 1908, all of them, pretty much from the minute you walk in after the match, all they talk about is that they hope to get finished as soon as and hoping that 'this lot' don't stay too long. 8 o'clock they called last orders on Saturday, Tokyo and her cronies were all dressed up ready for a night on the town by the looks of it. What a waste of a venue, place should still be bouncing at 11pm and probably would be if customers didn't feel so awkward after an hour or so. Pools always crying poverty but always wasting revenue opportunities at the same time.

That is Unbelievable! Disgraceful! Beyond belief!

But not surprising, Iv'e only ever bought one ticket, I think I'd had a drink beforehand which would explain it. I never won.

they think they have more authority than the police have. infact when you get searched for no reason at away games they actually have. the cops need reasonable suspicion of some wrong doing or possible future wrongdoing before you can be stopped and searched. these goons live off the fact you can be refused admission if you do not roll on your back and conform. fans now have been dummed down so much that they take everything thrown at them from javing to purchase a ticket pre match, treated like a possible criminal inside and unable to but food and drink if all you have on you is coin of the realm. this is what is classed as the matchday experiance and the game hasn,t kicked off yet. all this crap will finish me with football far more than the cost of travelling and a shit pools defeat ever will.

The club has been treat like a joke for too long. The sooner we get half decent people involved in the club once again, the sooner standards will rise. The club is a total mess on and off the pitch.

Agree with all the sentiments above. We left the ground on Saturday and rather than wait for the gate to open to cross the car park, we walked round the side.
Unlit, ankle deep in mud in places ( it is mid December after all ). Just hoped that we hadn't trod in dog shit - which could have been a distinct possibility !
At York a few weeks back, we were told to wait until the home fans had cleared the area. We just accepted that as normal practice.

There's times when you can't walk round the side because the police stop you. You've got to walk all the way round and down past the quoits club to get to the club bars, most just say f*ck it I'll go to another bar away from the ground - more loss of income.
I suspect the club probably enjoyed lockdown and playing games without the inconvenience of fans.

get the impression most clubs would be happy if they sold season and matchday tickets and nobody turned up. must be the only social activity where you feel unwelcome and everything is done to spoil your day. the vast majority of fans are just decent people and could live with opposition fans quite easily at games before, during and after. know a couple of oldham fans. no matter what happens in the two games there might be a bit of banter about it when i see em again in the new year but we will not be scrapping in the church graveyard or be segregated at our thursday lunch club at the church.
