It's my birthday so I ain't having it spoilt so I won't be going. If they score first which they probably will we are done and there's no way we will keep a clean sheet. As always hope I'm wrong. A defeat I'm afraid but by how many????

If you’re not going , just buy some bags, fill em with sand and hide in the shed with the radio on.
Sometimes, just sometimes, with the crowd behind you, strange things happen.
That’s the joy of football, sometimes it never quite turns out like it’s anticipated…if it did, no one would bother going ever….it’s the unlikely results that make it worthwhile.
As for you birthday, they buggered up my wedding day losing to blood Rhyl in the FA Cup….. I survived

Getting to your seat is like a military operation, show your ticket to get in, show it again top of the steps, show it again to get to your seat. It pisses me off big style I think they have gone too far with the security and stewards it's little old artlepool not old trafford, mind you they need the security at Old Trafford to stop them getting out before half time.

I'll be there. Pools need to step up the plate and make a real game of it. Shipping goals the way we did against Bromley in front of a Rink End full of Derbyshire oiks would be unforgiveable. Doesn't matter that they're the league leaders - that should be motivation enough for Pools to put in one of the performances of the season.

They only won it in injury time down at their place, and that was after Mancini, Lacey and Wallace had all gone off injured.

Pools will need to be at their very best with no last minute cry offs to get anything out of this game. Chesterfield are going to score, can we? Not feeling optimistic but hoping we dont make it easy for them.

Is the security like that all over the ground? Or do you sit in the Millhouse like me? Can understand it in the Millhouse like - there was about a thousand people cramming into the North West Corner every home game when there was no security on, including little lads and lasses no older than about 10. It was an accident waiting to happen.

The only problem with stewards in the CK stand is non season ticket holders asking where there seat is and they don’t know. Otherwise never seen any problems.

In the Mill house, best view in the ground, well it is on the odd occasion we win.

Always liked the top seats in the Mill House Stand as you get the full picture of what’s going on across the full pitch…standing behind the goal was never for me as you get no real full impression of the match.

When I could it was always The Town End for me just up a bit above the goal. Can't abide sitting down at football it feels unnatural to me. Anybody take note of what JA said about the forthcoming Chesterfield clash? "what we've got to remember is they're in the same league. They're not world beaters. And if we're at it then we can cause them problems." I expect we will be "at it" by conceeding. Hope not. C'mon Pools give us all an early Christmas pressie and then get the place really rocking on Boxing Day against Oldham.

Over a dozen responses & not one score prediction !

Hartlepool 1 Chesterfield 8. We score first after 3 minutes. Mani D scorer. We concede after 10 minutes and then the floodgates open. Our goaly actually plays well but the defence are like headless chickens. Post match Askey says I am sick of telling the defenders what to do. They are not good enough.

i,d take the draw now on top of a really good performance by pools and if chesterfield do score its on the back of good play by them and not defensive mistakes by us. will give the team some confidence and something to build on.

can take both sitting or standing as long as both are undercover. what i do dislike is fans standing in seated areas where you have to do likewise if you want to see the game.

First and foremost we need to be still in the game at half time- at least level.
Yes they are a good team but it's not like were playing Man City.

I'm going for Desmond 2-2 (Mani D, Cooke), which would be a good result for me.
Just hope we are competitive and don't fold like we did against Bromley

I’m going for 3-1 to us on the basis that if we win, I’ll be a genius and if we get hammered I’ll be called a pisstaker….win, win scenario.

Defensive shambles again, late consolation for Pools.

A Pools victory with Mancini coming on as sub late on to score or set up the winning goal in added on time.
Well that’s my prediction out the window,

Ah well, a 1-0 loss against Chesterfield is not too bad a result, with our defence being what it is. I was expecting us to let in a few more.

In a way 1-0 is more irritating because it was so close…mathematically.

At least we defended better overall including a lot of corners. But we still managed to let in a miss hit shot from edge of box that literally trickled into the corner. We may never again keep a clean sheet. banghead

We will…it’s provisionally booked in for the twelfth of never, or thereabouts.

Thought we were the better side first half by a good margin, played the best football and created the best chances - Mani should have had 2 goals.
They looked stronger 2nd half but we still had a couple of penalty shouts and half chances.
Typical of this season really, a bobbly shot from the edge of our box ends up in the corner of the net.
We'll be OK if we can keep up that level of performance.

Not sure if its the keepers positioning but we seem to let quite a few soft shits in from the edge of the area, shame really we deserved more.

Think he must've been unsighted the ball came through what must have been 9 or 10 players between the shooter and him.
Thought a draw would've been a fair result.
Have to mention the joke of a referee once again, where on earth to they get them from?

Goal was a mis hit that took everyone by surprise. Mani D could & should have scored 2.
Not saying we deserved to win but there was never any possibility of them "tearing us a new one"
