A waste of time trying to predict what this lot will achieve but one thing I will predict is we won't keep a clean sheet.

Over to you lot. banghead

Lets strip it down.
Pride. You should not have to ask for.
Passion. You should not have to ask for.
Work. You should not have to ask for.

Personaly i would travel on the Day, Overnight stays clearly do not work (York)

As I think Mr Accrington or Mr Greyhound have said previously and what I always subscribe to as well, when following Pools on the road-

Go with an open mind, enjoy your day out and treat any kind of points return as a bonus.

And if we do the unthinkable and win - have a few victory ales when you get home.

Win with a clean sheet and the whisky comes out and then get absolutely clattered! rolf

You think so? Contrary to the impression anyone might get from reading the Bunker, the fans are still singing John Askey's name. They're firmly in the 'It's all Raj's fault' camp.

Swap points for £20 notes and that's exactly my attitude to a day at the races

Even better, when I come home after a losing day I don't feel the need to go straight onto a forum to complain about the horses, their jockeys or their trainers.

Yeah but your affiliation to the horse you bet on ends at the end of a race, being a Poolie is for better but mainly worse a lifelong commitment.

its hard enough to predict what our starting 11 will be never mind the result. who will put in their sick note on saturday morning this week. if i know what type of team will go out and it was the strongest available then i,d go. get the feeling it will be the first pools game at the green desert i,ll miss with the thought of a similar team out on the pitch as last saturday. the words of aren,t you going on saturday is in my ear because she wants to go into blackpool pre match. if thats not enough to keep me warm at home nothing is.

I was booked to go and see Pools at Fylde in March 2020.. and look what happened then.
Given the comeback that Dorking achieved at Fylde on Saturday, a well motivated team would have a good chance of beating them there.
Chris Beech is in charge at Fylde now - played well for us but left under a cloud.

Home win. 3-1 is my prediction, unfortunately.

Hate how Beech left us - but think he'll get the better of us at the 'plastic' stadium.

If we've got both Manni's (and not too many other injuries) and if the manager has found a way to solve our weaknesses against set pieces and being caught on the break over and over again - we might just get a result here...

You’re obviously not watching the post match interviews fckpoolie. Like you I thought as the season progressed Askey would find a way and impart a mental blueprint on his defenders to defend set pieces and corners. Half way through the season and I see no improvement in this area. I do see improvement in forward movement. Unfortunately for success and to win matches you cannot have one without the other.

I have just watched the highlights for the first time having watched the game on national league tv. God the defending was so bad. The first goal there was 5 pools players watching. They trotted up to the half way line to restart and nobody seemed bothered. Second goal just the same. No man marking, nobody taking responsibility, no physical presence, lack of communication, lack of organisation, no pride, no awareness of danger. I think of players like Michael Nelson, Tony Adam’s , Martin Keown, John Terry. Really Physical and passionate always putting their body on the line and hating to concede. Really wish to see those sort of players. Our defence is just cotton wool. I should stop thinking about it as it’s like Groundhog Day every week.

Trouble is, it has to be sorted, because this has now become relegation form for us.

You should have watched the Subs warming up during HT, So unprofessional.
Why weren,t the subs taking instruction like the players they could be replacing.
Because the first half was a mess, And like you say NO drive to put it right.

sctatchinghead They spent half-time doing warm-up drills with a coach - just like Bromley's subs were. Are you seriously suggesting they should all have been in the dressing room?

I saw them MYSELF kicking the ball to one another across the pitch. :naughty:

Was it Henry Ford who said "There are only two certainties in life. Death and taxes" ? I would like to add a third certainty in life: Pools will always concede at least one goal every time they play. So as far as the Fylde game goes, it is a question of if we can score or better the number of goals we give away. I think the Bromley hammering may well have done damage to fragile confidence so I suspect we'll lose probably 3-1. Hope I'm wrong.

The organised warm up session finished when Umerah went in 'cause he was coming on as sub for Crawford. I saw that MYSELF an' all. You notice a lot when you're actually at the game.

The ’evidence’ would suggest that what ever happened at half time made no difference whatsoever.

The two worst defences in the National league so should be plenty of goals in it, we will probably need to score 3 or 4 to win, whether we can do that is another matter.

My name is Mystic Meg. Mani scores after 5 minutes. And within 10 minutes Fylde equalise from a corner with 5 of our defenders stood watching. For the rest of the game we create many chances and Fylde have a few too but our goaly saves us in the dying minutes so it’s all square. Post match Askey tells the interviewer he has no answers as he
has told the defence hundreds of times what to do but they are too stupid to follow his instructions

looking at todays maximum temperatures and tomorrows on the tele at nearby preston i,d be dubious about even setting off for this. actually a postponed game would be the best thing we can get from the game as it will be bare bones fc yet again.

I agree with this except that Pools concede in the 96th minute to goal from a free kick needlessly given away wide on the right. Pools lose 2-1 after having the better of the play.

I would check this with Fylde, If you can.
Don,t even know if there is an inspection planned, But would have thought HUFC should know.
Don,t know if they have a forum.

Off topic: They have just sold their captain to Solihull.

Game off, I don’t see it as an advantage as we end up with a fixture pile up with a paper thin squad.

In some way I am hoping that the Chesterfield match is cancelled. It might give us more time to learn how to defend
