Does anyone know what is happening with it?
My understanding that it was to be dismantled in the summer and the wood recycled. I have no idea what they are going to do with the concrete structure at the end.

The concrete structure might just be left in place, gonna coast a tidy sum to demolish it to sea bed level…anyway it’ll attract fish, so best leave it, hardly in the shipping lanes is …?
The wood is greenheart so should be worth a bit if in good nick….the pier legs could be expensive to lift though.

We were given a 2x2 piece of green heart by our instructors and told to saw through it, first one to cut through it could have a flyer… clappp
It was a complete and utter farce, we ended up using hacksaws and never got through it, no bugger got a flyer. sadx

"Greenheart was even used as cladding on Ernest Shackleton’s expedition ship Endurance, with the wreckage being discovered in nearly pristine condition in 2022 after sinking in 1915".

I'd never heard of Greenheart - so I just spent the last hour with a cuppa googling it to death. If I ever make a wooden submarine - I'm using Greenheart.

Seriously mate, the experience of us half a dozen daft lads sawing that little piece of wood and getting madder and madder has stuck with me to this day

It has been converted into a Northern Lights magnet by the scientists at the top secret Aurora Pooliealis Project.

Dodgy bunch them lot mind. I'm hearing that their next contract is to implant Jehovah's Wittness DNA into the Terminators they've been building - so they'll ALWAYS be back...

You wouldn’t want a Jehovah’s Terminator at you front door, but you would ask it in…if you know what’s good for you.

Its a landmark that means you are nearly home when coming by train from the north.

Just heard that the completion of the other platform at the railway station will be in January 2024 but it will not be used until after the regulators approve it until "spring????" 2024 (astronomical is 21 March to 21 June and meteorological 1 March to 31 May). The extra (every 2 hours Boro to Toon)services will not stop until its open.
Our illustrious politicians said it would be open for the tall ships (6/7/2023).
Lies, lies and more lies :angry-screaming:

Hamas might do a decent job on it.

They’d fire 8,436 home made rockets and miss every time apart from singeing the feathers of a seagull called Eric…who’s called for a ceasefire.
