You have to try, only concern is how many backers are ready for it if the worst happens, fingers crossed.
All that matters is the club, the rest is froth.
Managers, owners and players all come and go.
We’re married to the club.

So we do appear to have plenty of interest, a far cry from no one is interested in getting involved in little old hartlepool.

There's a big difference between interest and intent though!
I was interested in a nice Aston Martin, but when I found out the cost to buy and run (not just the buying price), I lost interest.

Willing to invest is different to interest though.

They don't say anyone's willing to invest though they say parties could invest. And that is subject to seeing the full financial details of the club and associated companies.
So nobody ready to step in just yet is there?
Hopefully things will progress to a good outcome, and Raj keeps funding us until that time.

When people say they’re ‘interested’ it means just that….like me buying a car and looking through the showroom window, but there’s a way to go before splashing the cash…..now if someone’s prepared to make a pledge or indeed willing to invest, great, but while interest is the first step, it is just that… a first step.

That took some doing, but their lottery ticket did come up, that and their close harmony choral singing…… all together now….”We’ll keep a welcome in the hillside, we’ll keep a welcome in the vale etc etc etc”.

I was told by a man in the know - whom has had contact with the HUST and HOOC, that the interest is very genuine. The HUST have managed to bridge a gap between the parties and Raj (some believe that was all that was needed as going to Raj in a rabble wouldnt of worked). They are basically being the mediator /Broker in this deal but having involvement themselves thankfully.

The only way our club will become free of Raj is through a multiple consortium.

unless...

we get very lucky like we did with IOR and a company or person of that stature comes in again

If…….I think I’d drop the ‘Free of Raj’ line in case he decides to free himself, don’t rock the boat till we’re tied up alongside the new boat.

A man who ‘runs the Paul Gough agency’ (his words) tweeted Nick Loughlin after the York win saying something along the lines of ‘just need Goughy to finalise the deal’. The same man has hinted again tonight that it could be true

Regardless of if or when a new owner arrives, let's hope we don't end up like York - money bags owners, spent big, struggling.

What I would like to know is Raj putting money in to keep us going or not? I read that if he pulls out without new owners we will be in big trouble.

I don't think he could have made it clearer. He'll fund for a few months and thats it. This was a month ago.

That statement was made - through the broadcast made by the Trust. However what is alarming however you look at it is why it received 0 media attention. A massive claim like that all but seemed to go un-noticed. No one has truly come out and said, btw chaps we are going to become in a right mess as Mr Raj is about to walk away. Not sure if the lines where crossed or something is a miss but i just cant understand how something so substantial in claiming we literally have a few months of his bankrolling is left didnt get the uproar and attention it had the last time we nearly ended up without a club.

Now im hearing from all 4 corners that the Goughy deal is a real thing, he has some rich mates who are going to bring this dream alive and by the sounds of things one is a very very wealthy man so we should be in good hands should all 3 be putting cash in. If this is true and it all works out, little old Pools could be back in the IOR days and slowly find ourselves crawling back up the leagues !

I really hope the rumours bring a happy outcome but like I said earlier we should wait and see rather that build up something that might end up on the rocks.
Patience and caution is needed no matter how difficult that is.

He said basically until the end of the season. He has to draw the line somewhere to be fair.

At least we would of had a go. Better than just dying a slow death which is whats happening at present. Notice a few american lads have popped up on twitter in the last 24 hours regarding pools.

Good job we didn’t have that attitude back in the late 60’s, because if we did, you wouldn’t have a problem now because Pools wouldn’t exist….and this death of a thousand cuts is still better than most of what we had pre IOR.
So, no you wouldn’t, that’s the mindset of …..’bugger tomorrow, let’s have a party’…there’s always a bill and regrets.

It's the blind insistence that new owners will make everything rosy on the pitch that I can't get my head round, hence my earlier post re York. They've spent loads for this league, striker was signed for around 300k from Ayr, 2 CBs at a combined 150k. Knocked out of Trophy by Bath (I think) and not doing anything in the league.
Hopefully a new owner will give us less uncertainty and success on the pitch. But there's no guarantees in this game.

That’s the trouble, they always think there’s sunshine around the corner.
Coxall was hailed by many as the new Messiah and had the fans eating out of his hand, everything in the garden was coming up roses, then the greenfly turned up.

I'm fairly certain most people don't think like this. I think most people would be happy with an ambitious club who are more transparent in their dealings and showcase some joined up thinking on the football side rather than splashing hundreds of thousands on transfer fees every season.
You're right York have shown how not to do it. I think Matt Uggla has taken to club ownership like a kid in a candy shop just collecting shiny new players as he feels like it. You'd hope that Paul Gough (if the rumours are true) being a bit older with some more lived experience than a 29 year old with dad's money would take a different approach. Obviously this relies on A: the rumours being true, B: it actually going through and C: whoever takes over having some knowledge of how to run a club.

Dont think their is any blind insistence things will be better, but i hardly doubt new owners could be much worse. We have just struggled for 60 minutes against a side 3 leagues lower, been defeated by Chester a league lower, appear to still be on a slide, rhink what fans want is some sort of hope and to be run lioe a decent sized club for this league and not some micky mouse club.

I think they will too, lets be honest most teams with money eventually do something in the conference, notts county, stockport, wrexham and now chesterfield have all been examples of splashing the cash has got them success in this league, york at the minute may seem to be doing stuff wrong but it wont last eventually they will probobly get lucky.

It's not bugger tomorrow attitude.
I've seen us in trouble god knows how many times, but we always managed to pull through some how, this time,i'm not so sure.
I just think if this rumour is a load of crap,we'll go tits up anyway.
If it is true & we get a few good seasons great.
