1 nil win will do to go through to the next round or scoring more than them in the game. Going for a draw though and beating em in a replay.

Saw their manager’s interview about the match, full of confidence and himself.
I was amused at his love of statistics and how he assessed how successful a match had been on various attacking chances created but left out the most important factors which are scoring goals and not conceding goals, because no matter how good a performance is if you don’t get three points your assessment is flawed.
Admittedly they’ve won four of their last five games and he sounded like he was surfing a wave of success, but not so much informing the general audience but appealing to his fan owned employers.
He was confident but I felt he was also covering his own back with a rapid fire version of a Stanley Unwin style of delivery that was basically bullshit baffles brains, highlighting the politics and intrigues of football.
I eventually lost the will to listen after the carnival ride went round in the same circle just too many times.

never bother reading or listening to opposition managers before or after a match. not really interested in what they say or believe a songle word they come out with. Its always some bloke full of confidence defying all logic and at the end of the day give so little away you might as well not bother. better doing your own research if you can be arsed in the first place.

just hope they are not overconfident and that goes for the players no matter what JA tells them. They have 2 of everything and one of a couple of others as our lads have.

Ipswich are in the Championship, we can't play them until we get to the 3rd round.

Indeed they are- forgot they got promoted
In that case - Pompey, Brizzle Rovers, or Shrewsbury away - basically a League 1 team miles away, with very little chance of us progressing

I understand….but let’s hope the Scilly Isles haven’t got a team in the draw.

That’s because despite their problems, they’re what I regard as a proper club.
Make a pleasant change from the two minibuses from the Home Counties.

Chester fan here. Tom Crawford is a product of the Chester Academy. We have a good defence with 2 young and effective centre backs. Especially Matty Williams (blond lad) who should be playing a league higher, at least. Wyll Stanway, goalkeeper, is the brother of Georgia Stanway, one of the Lionesses. Our midfield is our strongest area with 3 or 4 very creative players who sometimes get in each others way. Watch out for Euan (yew an) Murray, small lad 5' 4" who can be very creative. Our problem is scoring goals with only one recognized striker. Hope our manager doesn't play our on loan players who have not been the most effective since arriving. Watch out for the little dark skinned lad at Right Back, Kieran Coates, who can create havoc with his runs down the right. May come on as sub. Not Joel Taylor, also dark skinned, who usually plays Left Back. Hope it's a good game.

Good to hear from a genuine footy fan. Dont worry about your problems scoring goals, our defence is extremely kind hearted. Just a question of if we score more than we concede. Good luck for the rest of the season but not today.

Otherwise no FACups prize cash to sign these elite incoming players.

Pools all the possession. No ideas in the last third. Ball just going backwards and side woods. They had one chance defensive error again, not running with the man. Couldn’t see who it was. Don’t know about you I’m getting sick of umerah. What does he actually do. Crowd now booing the team

Booed off at half time, Askey is in the stand as he is suspended, he would have had a good view of the first half from up there, sideways, backwards, sideways, did Pools have a shot on goal ?

They had one. Not moving the ball fast enough in final third. Chester defending like trojans. Every man tight on our markers and not giving us much time on the ball

How much would we bet that Askey starts his interview after this performance with “Yeah. Well. It’s very disappointing really…”. Mind you - he’s not wrong.

Grim to watch. Can't even do the basics right. Chester are just organised, that's it, nothing else.

Half of our side wouldn't get a game in the division below, and the other half shouldn't get a game anywhere as they have pea hearts.

You know when you are having a crap day already then you make the stupid decision to watch Pools?!
