That’s how low it’s sunk…it’s called the Hartlepool Mail, but it has no office in the town, no longer printed in the town despite getting totally refurbished by the TDC and from reading the contents has no reporters with with any meaningful knowledge of the town, it’s not even a pale shadow of the Mail I knew.
You need a neutral local paper to find out what’s going on, it must be a gift to local politicians.

What made me laugh was the thread with pictures on of people who they interviewed years ago - Not only did they not know people's names they also didn't print what they said.
A complete waste of time refred

Every week there’s a photo page devoted to visitors to either Seaton or the Lighthouse at the Headland. Frank and Audrey Wankshaft with their Chihuahua ‘Sprout’ having a day at the seaside from Trimdon…or …. Dave Bloke with his drone skimming over people’s gardens, a sculptor from Port Clarence….plus the compulsory shot of the sunset over Steetley pier.
It’s pathetic.

This just about sums up the ‘Hartlepool Mail’ now, basic, bottom of the pile, bland, last resort and no identity.

So is the building still there opposite the old library? If so what is it used for now?

The whole area was flattened, and the Raby road junction closed off And a new Mail office built on the site with a brand new printing hall…all vacated now.
Just go on google earth and the 3D view gives you your bearings so to speak.
Hope that helps.
