At least a week's break from threads with titles like 'Must Win,' 'Next 2' and 'Something Wrong Here.'

'Course, if we drop a bollock against Chorley...

Seriously though, anyone still think John Askey has lost the dressing room? - send your answers to noreply@singhmansions.com

I had my doubts, but once you lose the dressing room you rarely get it back, so maybe they were just shuffling the cards and appear to have got them to gel, the borers started badly and have turned it round, time will tell.

Win, lose or draw, as long as they give it their all majority of supporters can live with that.

And to score more than the opposition- otherwise certain elements start getting twitchy about the manager and the ownership- fairly quiet on both fronts tonight- wonder why that might be sctatchinghead

I dont think anyone should get twitchy over askey, not many others will do any better. One win at home though against eastleigh shouldnt change things, we still need to be doing better, hopefully with injuries not as bad as they thought we can push on from xmas time, lets hope we can hang around till then.

Askey’s shuffled the pack and looks like he’s finally got a first eleven for now.
I feel a bit more optimistic as it appears we have finally got a team playing well despite the missing players.
So how about we stop looking for open manholes and step around them.

the reason i have stuck with pools all these years. as long as i can see a shift being put in defeats have never bothered me if the opposition is just better on the day. however in todays mindset of fans its all about not losing and nothing else. i,d guess right now i have seen more pools defeats than wins but keep on going.

Ya got to cling to that glimmer of hope that this division is pure shit standard.
We should be jumping all over that really instead of pinning our hopes on injured players coming back earlier than scheduled and being as good as they were before the injuries.
Suppose its a wait n see hope situation.
UTP.

This division is not ‘pure shit standard’, far from it…just another myth.

its said that because apart from chesterfield there are no so called big names in it. if stockport, notts county and wrexham were all playing in it some would say how strong it was because of those names. its more an even playing field than being shit.

Just returning to this thread. Form guide - LLLWL. Goals against worst in the league. Dumped out the cup by NL North, history made by not reaching round 1.

Either the players aren't good enough, the coaching staff are doing something wrong, OR the players are not playing for him. He questions their desire and ability to carry out instructions quite consistently. He has bemoaned them not making second balls today and levels that they have an inability to play in a game that doesn't suit them. Is that an admission that we have no Plan B? I fear for him if we lose again in the next game, especially if the performance level is as bad as it has been (minus 2 matches in the last 5, we've been awful).

I agree with you again….he should have a plan B, but it appears just good old plan A and that’s it.
Personally I don’t find him that inspiring, ….this is becoming a bit of a conundrum. sctatchinghead

Coaching & improving fitness levels are an important & successful part of a good manager and I think JA has lost his way. Whatever the ability of a player or age they should be able to respond to constructive coaching, more so, when they are full time not lower league part time players.

Today the team was awful with none of them able to honestly say they did well. The same players were all good against Eastleigh just a week ago.
Wtf is going on?

its quite simple really. one team were up for the game the other wasn,t. doubt the most biased chester fan expected much more than a draw or a sneaky one goal win with their side riding their luck and the keeper having the game of his career. over 90 minutes they were the best all round side and thats from a side with only one away victory all season against the mighty tadcaster albion.

There’s the problem, so I am going to assume the problem is in the dressing room. You don’t go from good to useless in 7 days.

I think Raj must have changed his pre match team talk from one week to the other. It couldn't be anything else could it. Mind you the chairman spends too much time in the director's box, maybe he should get himself in the dugout more often.
Seriously though, if I was the owner, I'd be bouncing into our dressing room a bit more often. I wouldn't be putting up with the current we'll blow hot and cold when it suits us attitude. No way.

all players can have an off day. usually you can carry them but not a full team having one with some having their worst game ever in a pools shirt. once you cross that white line you have no idea what you will be in for or how you will end up performing. for me its too many players having a degree of skill thats not matched by a must not lose attitude.

He likes the 2nd balls comment.
Quite a few managers saying that nowadays.
But sure i read hes owned up to his own mistakes.

Just after he passes the 6 months probation period.
His back doors can stop nipping now.

I don't get pissed off anymore with Pools results. For some strange reason me brain sees the humerous side of it. Sure im not the only one. sctatchinghead.
