In the hunt for a new manager already after Uggla sacked Michael Morton last night. Wonder how many he'll get through this season?

Various possibilities being touted but JA is not among them:

Didn't take our short-lived Sporting Director Darren Kelly long to sort out his 'personal reasons' for leaving Pools - he's been announced as York's new General Manager!

Good luck Darren Kelly

Wouldn't want to work for Fuggla and his Mam- a loose canon if ever there was one by the sounds it. Any madman willing to take the York job needs to accept that it won't be them picking the team.

Reminds of that mad yank that took over at Chester City about 20 years ago- he started interfering with the team and eventually made himself Chairman/ Manager -Barry Fry (as odious as he is) he was not!
First thing he did was appoint 3 captains- one for the DEfence, one for the midfield and one for the OFfence. (I shit ye not)! Unsurprisingly Chester went from lower mid table to bottom in no time, relegated and Folded.

Another good decision by Raj- not letting that nut job and his Mam- anywhere near our club!

Raj's stock is on the rise (with me anyway)- please can Mr Askey have a couple of more additions?

He has joined as General Manager, not first-team manager.

Wonder why he told Pools he would work his notice then he's moving to be closer to his family, then all of a sudden joins York in a similar role ..... not like Raj has previous for pissing off people I guess.

Head Clerk would have been his title back in the day.
My new favourite is ‘Document Manager’ aka Filing Clerk.

Mine is 'Marketing Executive.' Job title inflation is cheaper than a pay rise!

Years ago got a promotion and got weekends off, pay rise and the title Technical Officer, very nice….. got called in by my boss a week later and he was a bit sheepish as he said there was a problem. Is it the weekends or the money, no…it was only about my job title….. he was a bit taken aback when I told him as long as I keep the rise and the weekends off he can call me an Admiral in the Chinese Navy for all I care….he just couldn’t understand why I wasn’t disappointed

I spoke to a lad who’d worked on the bins in the Midlands and said his council in the 80’s employed 70 bin men, one ‘superintendent, a lady in the office and an office junior…and no computers….when he left the bin men had halved to 35 and the office staff had increased to 27.
That’s what’s up with the country.

Aye Starmer is committed to give councils more power. Talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Year on year governments give less funding to councils forcing up Council Tax, basically indirect taxation, in general Councillors do not have a professional background, they don’t know how to manage funds and rely on advice from the Chief Executive who used to be called the Town Clerk but changed the title and increased the salary substantially along with a gold plated pension and a severance package. Below them you have the executives usually on 6 figure salary with similar benefits.

Bar political Party’s from local Government, make all Councillors independent and most importantly resident in the ward they represent.
Nowt worse the living in a poor ward and finding your local ‘caring’ Councillor has a more affluent address…how can they possibly know what it’s like to live in a sink estate,?
Also ban any member of any political Party from office, dogs always return to their own vomit.

Agree with all of that Snowy
Also think the same about MPs - most are a bunch of piss takers that live well outside the constituency and are of the calibre of Nadine Dorries

Look at the Thirsk based Tory MP the town currently has- The local electorate would have been better off electing BOB Mortimer - at least it would have been entertaining!

Mortimer got elected because Starmer took charge of selecting the Labour candidate and chose the very man who sat on the panel that closed our A&E and a load of other services, sometimes local advice is worth taking.
My main beef however is local Goverment.

Short career so he will of negotiated himself a payrise the same as DC Mols Liddle etc etc etc etc.
At Pools the semi decent players cant getaway fast enuf even if that means going to smaller clubs.
Then the really shite drift back into the Dog n Duck leagues.
A vicious circle under this Regime.

How’s it a short career…he’s basically an office manager, it’s not a job where fitness figures large, as long as can do his job it can go on till he retires, if he’s good enough.
To win four games out of your opening six at most clubs is good news.
Here, a defeat signals failure of colossal proportions ……….Ooooooh dear.

thought years ago when you stood for the council you had to live in the area you stood for or a business in that area. then though you could not make a packet out of being a councillor unless it helped to promote a business or obtained a council contract which was a reason for many standing.

Wonder if the departed manager was popular with the players. ‘Hands on’ owners can be more of a curse than a blessing, maybe it isn’t a happy ship.

Well you won’t find me disagreeing with you.
Local ‘Councillors’ usually consist of a couple of Party puppet masters, a couple of persuaders and a herd of compliant party hacks with nodding heads to make the numbers up.
Not so much democracy at work as animal husbandry applied to politics.
