Last time JA managed a league club it was Port Vale from where he was sacked. Does anyone know what happened? Obviously PV were not doing well under him so I was wondering what went on. Was it bad luck with injuries? Dressing room fall out? A row with the chairman? Just wondering. Any one know?

Lost 8 of last 12 league games plus Kings Lynn in Cup

Saved them from relegation, got them up to 8th the next season and then it went wrong after losing to King's Lynn in FA Cup, the league games after that. Had been appointed by a different owner. All the same 2 years is above average for a manager to stay at a club.

Certainly a change of ownership during his early time there but along with many others this was during the COVID period when football was halted.
