I got talking to a young lad today 26 years old he was, sat next to me on the flight to Dubai, he was on his way to Abu Dhabi. He worked for Man City, did a few years at uni in 2 sports subjects, spent 2 years at Darlington, then spotted an advert on the net, applied for the job and got it. His first stint was in Egypt now going to Abu Dhabi. He is hoping to head out to Australia as Man City have a connection with Melbourne FC. One of the benefits was what ever bonus the first team got they received pro rata. Decent jobs out for kids if they put their mind to it. Luke Molyneux was his mate, played with him, Donnie offered 3 times the salary they Pools offered.

I knew I shouldn’t have mentioned Molyneux, the focus of the post was the lad’s achievements of getting a job at Man City.

Opportunities are out there in football still - you dont have to be a player to reap the benefits.

I know of a guy who did similar - was doing his coaching badges with us then dropped into the Physio side of things, think hes on mega bucks now at some Championship outfit. Travels all over with them too.

not long ago you would of gotten a real good job in the fitness / Physio world out in the middle east - even some coaching stuff but unfortunately the market became saturated when every PT and Physio found out they could live in Dubai and earn a decent buck off it too.

I know the lad who you are on about to speak to, dealt with him a few times with work.
Also, Andy Collett now works as a keeper scout for City, says they are excellent to work for and he gets very well looked after.
