Ward-Prowse played for Southampton last Friday and is signing for West Ham this week. So, I don't see why the likes of Sylla and Armstrong can't do the same for their clubs...

Difference is Southampton are picking up the thick end of 30 million for Ward Prowse

Plus Sylla has gone AWOL
Pools were absolutely right to trigger clause in his contract - so we can command a fee, should anybody wish to engage him in employment. Particularly given his piss poor conduct at Grimsby when he refused to play, completely undermining the manager into the bargain.

If someone offered us money for Sylla we’d take it !

I do think it’s a tough one, yes it’s easy to say it’s a contract Honour it full stop.

In practice if you have a few years left in career and have the potential to dramatically improve your wages (likely more than doubling) and help provide for you and your family I think you would absolutely push it/be fuming if it was blocked.
If a pools player did it I would be pissed but I do have some understanding of it.

These lads aren’t multi millionaires and have a short time to earn money so it’s not a straight forward situation, tho can see it from Harrogates side too

Well they can get another job like everyone else does. I know people in engineering who had well paid jobs but when technology moved on they had no transferable skills, like footballers, so they had to change to survive, butbthat’s life.
He has a contract simple as that, he’d sharp moan if the club were trying it on with him…to paraphrase the great man…
‘You’re not paid to think,
A mindless player is a happy player,
Now shut up, do your job.

If interest rates go down and another bank has a better deal than the one I'm on, I'm gonna tell my lender they can stick their mortgage and their early repayment fee.... and if they don't let me out of my contract it's not fair and exceedingly shan.

I feel that if one pauses to become analytical about the proportion of shan-ness that exists in a certain set of circumstances then the impact of the declaration of shanity is diminished. I mean yes, one could hesitate in order to carefully frame their exclamation so that both a quantitative AND proportionate assessment is provided for the listener but it is spontaneity alone that would bring home the sense of disgust and outrage.

Nice to see he's back at work, getting on with the job he's paid to do. No doubt he'll get the move his talent deserves. Let's be honest, he's better than Betty's boys!

That might well be the case ….but he signed for Betty’s boys, so only fair he does what he’s paid to do by them.
