Its knocky off stuff. It's the cheapest clothes you can buy out there. The unfit ones are not well enough to make the trip.

So its its a hell hole, but you can still buy nice clothes, even though they are knock off
I would.have thought if you came from a war ravaged country, there wouldn't any be anywhere to buy decent clothes
And I take it all the woman & children are unfit to travel.

Once asylum is granted they can apply to bring their family over.

Yep. Just suppose the migrant is given a job as a hospital porter. Wife and kids arrive. They must have somewhere to live. They all sign into the NHS, the kids all go to school they may claim benefits if the porter doiesn't earn enough. How is this of any benefit to this country? They are taking out more than they are contributing. They are taking out of a system that was designed for the people of this country who go to work and pay their dues. If more people take out than pay in the system is unsustainable as many find when they try to see a doctor or try to rent a place in the South East.

Somebody is going to be told off by Mr. Sunak as the NIL count from yesterday has been adjusted to make another good tally for the Migrants;

18th 574 in 12 boats

Can you really believe those NIL figures from the last 2/3 weeks? No I can't!

That stupid "barge" further down the coast at Portland which is supposed to house 500 will be filled up with those arriving yesterday. What another brainless idea by this government.

get nothing till they have contributed for a certain length of time. i do not expect getting something on the back of a hard luck story. suppose thats an old fashioned outlook in this touch feely world thats been foistered upon us. can see the crocodile tears now from the lefty,s if they do notget at least the same as we do. lets cut our pensions down as many do not need it all by daring to have an off peak mini break in a caravan when immegrants need the dosh. we must be more caring.

Agree. I presume the barge is symbolic, Sunak and co want to be seen to be doing something even if it is pretty much feck all. 500 on a barge and God knows how many thousands in hotels throughout the country. It is all very depressing because we all know the boats wont stop and the numbers will increase week on week.

What will happen in the next five years is this problem will escalate until somebody finds a solution. So far nobody has apart from throwing water from a garden sprinkler at a massive tower block inferno. Ideas like that don't work I'm afraid.

Agreed but what is even more worrying is that the government in waiting will do even less than the current shower to stop the boats.

The only part of the BBC I listen to on a daily basis is the BBC World Service.
On Sunday a reporter was on board a rescue vessel in the Mediterranean when they picked up a group of what were basically youths from west Africa hoping to reach Europe because they wanted to earn money to send back to their families, but they assumed that when they landed in Italy it would be straight forward case of being taught the language, getting a job and they would be welcomed with open arms.
However on disembarking, the friends were separated and dispersed to different locations.
It would appear the tales they are told do not match the reality.
Their naivety is being exploited by someone.

that shows every day where the just stop oil crowd are. just slowly following them blowing their horns instead of a group just moving them away, rip up the banners and allow others to go by doing their lawful lives as well.

I look at the ‘Just Stop Oil’ zombies and find them disturbing…. They’re like devotees of some religious cult, masochistic followers, Stepford environmentalists, beyond reason a smug legion of middle class tunnel vision virtue signallers with a superiority complex.

Even more yesterday, another 297 in 6 boats. This makes the "published" tally at 2638 since the 7th, yes 13 days.

Over 200 a day, they will need 3 of those "barges" a week to cater for them.

Anyone got some spare headache pills?

A colleague has brought his Thai wife to the U.K. on a Spouse visa, cost nearly £3000 that’s for 2 years 6 months part of which is a contribution to the NHS. Unfortunately most asylum seekers probably not any of them have any money, the NHS will never refuse treatment to anyone.

Whilst pensions haven’t been cut they have increased the retirement age as they can’t afford to have people retiring at 65, the government saved a fortune when they increased womens retirement age to the same as a man.

thats if they reached retirement in the first place. its a real headscratcher of a subject to find why that really happened in the first place. life expectancy even now for women is about 5 years more than men and never understand the reasons why women all seem to want to marry a man older than themselves. by doing that if everything is equal they are forcing themselves in later life to live on their own. on top of that very few women worked full time all their lives when pensions were brought in. too busy looking after kids once they married usually in their early 20,s and never really got back doing it.

Happens in Thailand for different reasons older foreign men fall in love and marry Thai women half their age, old fella pops his clogs and the women some times moves on to the next one.

do thai women age better than they do here. as all you see of them are they are good lookers and slim unlike many of our lasses. the only thai lass i know is the one that runs the headland cafe who never seems to look any different than she did when she bought the place. if thats the case they,ll not need a pension as they,ll earn a fortune in their lifetime if they get there husbands to leave em all their money.

Asian women age very well, no idea why, maybe their diet, many 50 year olds look like a young 30 year old similarly you think one is a teenager turns out she is nearing 30 years old.
This might change as more in Thailand are starting to eat western type food albeit it’s expensive for them, you do see a few chubby kids more so the boys. It might be the Coca Cola they appear to drink it by the gallon in Thailand.

291 in 5 boats yesterday, 20th.

Another barge needed!

If they had all gone and voted in Uxbridge, Sunak would have lost another seat!

I think the migrant counter has gone on holiday?

The last 5 days are all showing negative.

He's either on holiday or his abacus has broken

The figures are;

July 22 None
July 23 None
July 24 None
July 25 51 in 1 boat
July 26 147 in 3 boats
July 27 None
July 28 None
July 29 None
July 30 None
July 31 None

So now the illegal invaders are refusing to live on the barge.
As a taxpayer I say refuse to live in the accommodation my taxes are providing and you invalidate the chance of asylum.
They come here illegally and then want to pick and choose. I think it's about time an example has to be made. If they don't want the FREE hospitality then back to the boats and towed back to France with the explicit notification that if they return a second time they will be classed as hostile invaders and dealt with accordingly.
AND THEN TELL THE FRENCH THAT NO MORE UK MONEY WILL BE PROVIDED.

its a case of expectations being higher for them or the places they lived in their own country were far better than they are being offered over here. having all the money to give to the trafficers i doubt they are the poorest of the poor who are over here. know for a fact i could not afford the journey back to where they came from and i,m not on my uppers.

We’ll at least those awfully plummy voiced middle class virtue signallers were there to greet them with their ‘welcome packs’.
What a pity they can’t show the same flowing charity to the homeless.

It's those sodding "lawyers" (replace with WAN*ERS) who are once again causing issues and no doubt being paid from our taxes.

You have to say it is a stupid policy mooring the barge so close to the town with 500 or so men having access with the quote from Dorset Police saying they don't envisage any problems!

Give these "invaders" (nice word Mr D.) the choice of living on this barge and causing no problems or a flight to Rwanda. No ifs or buts and force them if unwilling.

In any cointry where you turn up without documentation, you are detained, not put in hotels.
Surely any genuine asylum seeker would carry some proof of identity, because without it we have no clue who they are. In that case how could you work anywhere but at the lowest level, you can hardly take the word of someone who claims they are say a doctor without cast iron proof.

The barge in previous use was good enough for workers from the UK and Netherlands so why not for illegals?
Apparently there's now he'll on cos the government have said go to the barge or we'll stop your financial support, that's fair do's as far as I'm concerned.
If they're coming from so called hell holes then surely the barge must be heaven.

Over the years when I worked offshore I lived on similar accommodation vessels sometimes 4 in a room shared showering-toilet facilities. We didn’t have the luxury of going for a stroll, it was 12/16 hours graft then eat and sleep. It looks like the asylum seekers want to continue living in their plush hotels

Sounds like an easy option for some foreign criminals. Why serve time in your country for murder, violent robbery, international fraud when you can slip into the country like this..And yet there's folk out there saying they're having a hard time, are they naive or away with the fairies? sctatchinghead

In my second home Thailand you are incarcerated in a detention centre not a luxury hotel if caught with out a visa etc, no lefty lawyers there to defend you or cash handouts.
They throw their identity away therefore nine times out of ten the U.K. government have no idea where they come from so no idea where to send them back to. I think the majority who apply for asylum are actually granted it, 15000 in 2021, and others who are not granted it appeal and it takes months to sort it.

possibly those with that attitude will be the first to moan about white british born and bred here who do not act and think in the same way. its like some reverse racism where anyone bith a non white face is regarded as having a hard life and needs much more help than others. fair play to that tory mp who said if they do not like the barge they can f..k off back where they came from. think the majority agree with him.

I don’t understand ships sailing out to pick them up half way across….the border force should have the title ‘FERRIES’ painted on the side, meanwhile if your in Kent or Sussex don’t get into difficulties at sea because the it would appear the lifeboats are too busy with their shuttle bus identity to bother with you.
We know you are obliged to pick them up under Maritime Law, but just once I’d like to see the vessel head straight to Calais to discharge their cargo and see the reaction.
I suspect we are just feeding the modern slave trade.

thought it was supposed to be a service just for those at peril on the sea and not a welcome to england lift. they,ll get a shock once they get accepted here, get a car and have to pay for roadside assistance.

Has it ever occurred to some of the blinkered do-gooders that some of the illegals are fleeing there war torn countries because they were the aggressors in failed and brutal attempts to overthrow their governments.
