Hello! My name is Arne Bye. I'm a Norwegian comicstrip artist, and I'm responsible for the comic parody you've stumbled over called "Hartlepool-fans ler av alle andre".

Let me tell you why I made this. As you can see it is located on Nettserier.no (Nettserier = Web comics). It is a Norwegian web portal where everyone, pro or amateur, can upload their own comics for free. The thing is that in February/March there was a lot of kids uploading images that were made in MS Paint, and in most cases they had nothing to do with comics at all. There was particularly one "comic" which was named "Liverpool-fans ruler" (as you maybe guessed, it means "Liverpool fans rules") and it was made by a nine-year-old. It had nothing to do with comics at all, he just made simple drawings of his friends in MS Paint - but only those who were Liverpool supporters, indicating that they was so much cooler than everone else because of that. I was growing sick of all these Paint-comics, so I teamed up with my friend Løytnant Roderik (he claims to be a lieutenant. I don't know if it's true) and made this parody: "Hartlepool-fans ler av alle andre". Or in English: "Hartlepool fans laugh at everyone else".

No progression at all! Just to make fun of the lousy paint comics that were made just to have something to upload. And it worked... After we made this "comic" in March there haven't been uploaded more than two new MS Paint-comics.



This was a repsonse to Catya's comment about the Nettserier FC supporter. (Nettserier FC is a comic where different artist draw one page each, and it's about the most popular characters from the comics uploaded on Nettserier have gone together and formed the club Nettserier FC - and of course we had to make a strip about them too :p ). Catya says that those who have worked with the Nettserier FC comic now propably will feel insulted.

My answer, in English, would be something like:

"If they get insulted out of this, then they don't tolerate that much ;) But I can't make a comic about a football team without including Nettserier FC?

...by the way, look at the previous strip and see who the HUFC supporter is laughing at there.If you don't see who it is, compare it with the picture that pops up when you click "Les mer om Arne Bye" ("Read more about Arne Bye") under "Om Serien" ("About the Comic").

I was "googling" for own name and "Mira" to see if anyone had written anything about my new comic project, since I opened the Mira website, http://mira.arnebye.no/, this weekend. When this site came up among the search results I couldn't do anything but laugh, and of course register and tell you what this was all about ;)

Arne's application to join came in the other night while you were all at bo-bo's and I followed his e-mail address to his site and found he was a cartoon strip writer although I couldn't follow the Norwegian text obviously. I thought he'd got hold of the Escape Goat thing and was interested in what was going on there.

The word "meg" by the way means "me" (so no, It's not a name).

just right click the picture with your mouse and select the option to set it as your desktop background. Right click it also to choose the option to save it to your computer.

Print the picyure,then spread glue over your monitor then stick your picture on.
