buying without any knowledge of what they are going to get for their money is beyond me. would they buy a car unseen from a dealer with a poor reputation. then there is the question of the costs themselves. for some they will not miss it whilst for others it will be a big rench.

No what I’m saying is people saying they won’t buy ST until we are a decent team. As I say not everybody can afford ST.
To me a true supporter goes through thick and thin

The big uncertainty for me is the future ownership of the club. As far as your car dealer analogy goes, the 'dealer' in this case in John Askey and his reputation at this level of football is good. I'd rather have him in charge than Craig Harrison any day, and when Harrison was manager Blackledge was the owner. The current squad is full of holes but still much better than the shower of shite Harrison assembled to start Pools' first season in the NL.

Don't know if anyone's noticed but we've got the biggest squeeze in household budgets since WW2, we've been relegated so we'll be playing a poorer standard of football, and yet they're expecting people to pay what is only £15 less this season than last?
As I said, I don't think that's value at all, I'll pay on the day when I go. If that makes me a lesser supporter than the ST holders so be it.

Apparently Mitchell Curry, who has signed for us, knocked you back. Might be a load of bollocks too mind.

The uncertainty regarding ownership must be in the mind of any player or agent who is on the market.

Where did the knock back rumour come from, although the Poolie Doomies would have groaned at such a signing. They want signings from a different inter pedigree.

Fairplay to everyone who bought an ST under these financial times. But eveyones circumstances are different and the non STfans aint inferior as some make out.
The STSales are an indicator that 2 relegations out the EFL in 3 years is that our fans are pigsick of how unambitiously the club is being run.
Used to be an ST holder until a few years ago even tho would miss 8/9 games thru. unsociable shiftwork.
Got into the IPTV mode n plenty of cans of lager and vowed never to go back since new years day this year until we roll under new Ownership. :angry-tappingfoot:
We are all different and that is allowed. sctatchinghead

Seems to be a bit of false hope flying about that JA can turn water into wine.
Maybe even walk on water.

It's a hell of a long way from a season ticket to watching every game for nowt on IPTV.

I respect you're right to boycott going to Pools till there's a change of ownership, but watching every game for free isn't what I call being a supporter at all. This ain't the Premiershit, the vast majority of clubs in the lower leagues need income from their fans to survive. If we all got an IPTV box clubs like Pools would be finished irrespective of who the owner was.

Whilst I respect the vast majority of what you post on here Derwent, I don't think ref'ing anybody with a more negative outlook as being 'doomies' is fair, nor that people want unrealistic signings. I agree with a lot of what you say re Raj - as for the moment - there is no other alternative, nothing we can do there and we still have a football club to talk about & go and watch. But I do still think you can critique decisions made and look longingly at other clubs who have struck gold with new ownership - and are now attacking the transfer market at speed.

Harking back to the last pre-season, the majority of Pools fans had the wool pulled clean over their eyes by a flurry of late, panic signings of which the records were quite frankly awful. A couple of bang average performances during Sunderland and other friendlies and folk thought we were going to take League 2 by storm. I think people are a bit more wise now - to look at the pedigree in a bit more detail. Had we signed Mitchell Curry, he would have fit well within the 'wait & see' bracket. Just look at the number of lower league english football appearances he has made... Darlo, enjoy that one.

The two signings we have made so far look fine. I don't think people expect the world here, but after an extremely depressing 12 months or so, you can be forgiven for fearing the worst and over-analysing. Not responding directly to you here now Derwent but - christ - there really has been so little positivity to write home about - matches won, good signings, club stability.. you name it, pretty much all negative. Least i've looked forward to a season in a very long time & yet I miss the Saturdays at the match already with 6 weeks to go.

He can’t turn water into wine, never said he could, he’s the key mover though…. so it’s a case of if even he goes the outlook is not good.

You do realise i have a good CV of a regular supporter for 48 years. Probably been to more away games than youve had hot dinners. Still do the odd ones for a day out.
I will always be a FAN or now a bad supporter as yoy portray me to be. What about the other shit loads who watch iptv :o

I hope the weathers good on the 5th of August so i can watch the game in me garden with lots of tinnies.

My comment was more about them than you  But not the ones who live a hundred miles or more from Hartlepool. And it's true - I only get to 2-3 away games a season. Reckon it'll be Gateshead, York and Halifax next, depending on the fixture list.

Wrong, some IPTV streaming providers are illegal, most are not - almost all catch up TV is provided via IPTV services for instance

have not got a single clue how to stream games and pay up my tenner to watch pools ifollow midweek and on the international breaks. thats a big help for anyone who lives miles away but at least the club gets something out of it. not a big sports tele watcher and thats about enough for me and a few games live in the season keeps me going, poosibly about 10. i,d have to have plenty of cash i didn,t want to buy a season ticket even if i lived in the town though to make myself into some sort of super fan in the eyes of others. would not travel to somewhere like eastleigh if someone gave me a lift in a roller for free, but that does not make me less interested in the club.

Not aimed at anyone, but it's a bit hypocritical of anyone who doesn't pay the going rate to support the club or streams for free to criticise Raj over budgets and claim everything he does is on the cheap isn't it?

to be fair on those doing it they can watch plenty of other things than pools games. possibly paying for the live games pools are on and nothing for the rest watched would suit those not doing or unable to do the same.
