Not seen either of them play but wanted to be the first to say how rubbish they both are…

Glad to see is getting a couple of early signings in. A strong, settled pre-season would be a big help.

Kieran Burton - solid prospect. Made a few mistakes last season at Scarborough but was one of the better left sided defenders in the division. Does add legs though, he’s not slow.

Be a good back up but possibly one for the future.

Dixon has good pedigree and can’t argue at all with that as a signing.

Has had his fair share of clangers, including one against us in the season before last for Bolton where he squared it straight to us - but was class for Barrow in the season they were promoted from the NL.

I'll second that.
Burton must be rubbish if hes been playing for Scarborough in National League North.
Yet another Dog and duck Jock standard player.
When oh when will we ever learn?
Given our attendances and massive crowd potential we should be signing EFL 2 standard players with experience.
Penny pinching by Singh again.
He's taking the piss.
Another insult to us loyal fans.
And where's all that Cup money gone?
Absolutely no ambition.
Underwhelmed and won't be renewing my season ticket till Singh's gone.
Blah blah.. blah blah ..blah blah..

Dodds was NL North
Sterry was Northern Premier

Sorry to say you can't make these comments, unless you seen him play last season?
A lot of players play in the lower league as they haven't been giving the chance at higher levels.

A lot of non league players have gone on to making big successful careers after given that chance.

Can see athleticism being a common theme in Askeys signings

I think we should all get down on our knees and praise raj for signing a player.

I reckon we have got two very good players at this level. We paid a fee for Burton who has huge potential. We got a 6.4" Experienced keeper at this level and league two level and joins after being released by a league one club who's a good manager who obviously rated him at two clubs. Why do people always complain about signings before we see them play and why do some people not trust JA. This man knows what he is doing so please let's be more positive cas players and others read these messages. As for Raj not a fan yet but at least he is getting players in that JA wants and paying a fee for one of them shows me he has good intentions.

Have to have faith in askey he appears to know what he is doing, unlike the joker they got last season.

Burton played 34 games at Scarborough and scored 5 goals which included a hattrick. I just called a ex work colleague who supports Scarborough and he is well pissed off losing Burton. He said you have a proper good player with a mature attitude a player who is constantly thriving to learn his trade. The lad is only 20 and still finding his way in the game but comes very very highly recommended by my contact.

Report on Dixon from a Barra supporter:

Good signing that, thought he might have picked up a League Two gig, but he's from over your neck of the woods. Bolton fans didn't rate him but that was when he was in League One. Over the course of 5 or 6 seasons for us he was as reliable a keeper as you're gonna get for a top half NL/lower half L2 team. Upgrade on Killip which I'm sure you'll be happy to hear.

No complaints or anybody slagging off the signings, Leggie43. The difference here to last season is you can look at their record and make sense of the signing for the level we are at, which is a good sign for the further incomings. We're also getting first-hand reports from supporters who have seen them ply their trade in or around the division we are set to play at.

These aren't the Ndjoli's, Hamiltons, Brody Patersons etc etc.. where you could 100% be forgiven for questioning them before we had seen them play. Looked terrifying on paper/record for a League 2 signature... turned out to be exactly that on the grass. The transfer policy was rank bad (it's in the past but may well haunt us for another season to come due to 2 yr deals).

Fair points but I am not having a go at any individual just want us all to get behind our team. No one is happy yet but this coming season is huge and in JA I certainly do trust.

All experienced recently at the club

Good start , big experienced keeper, young athletic defender. I trust Askey. He said he wants players with pace and get where he is coming from. We where too laboured last season

Boyes gone to Fleetwood for a fee which is surprising so we now definitely need a second goalkeeper.

So recently we've seen Brad Young go to a prem club and Boyes go to an EFL club yet neither were deemed good enough to get a start let alone displace Calamity Killip. Strange indeed.

I'd say this is a good start especially given that were starting this season with a manager who knows what's required at NL level.

Sure, but in reality both are going/have gone into development teams, neither will be anywhere near the first team.

Well Killip has gone taking his man bun with him so we need a player with a bizarre hair style. I'm pretty sure this was in Askey's thinking when he made the move for him.

Fans have to realise we don’t have the budget to be paying transfer fees, we have to rely on the managerial team to source half decent players.

I’ve told you before, the ‘man bun’ has a year still to run on its contract and it’s got a sponsor…. ‘C.P.W & Associates .’ aka …Curly’s Pubic Wigs and Accessories.’

JA has started his recruitment with a goalie and a centre half. That is positive from him.

If the hair style is right, I think the cash should be found. It is a question of priorities.

Never better than Rob McKinnon. Taylor Foran looked the part...
