No indications yet. Don't think this bit of crystal ball gazing will be far off the mark:

As I understand it, the players who have contracts ending, are paid till June so I guess the list will be published some time in June. I may be wrong.

I think it needs to be released something like 2/3 weeks after your final game so should be next few weeks

They've got until the 20th May to release it or the club gets a fine.

some will know already if they are not going to be retained and cannot see askey busting a gut to try to persuade some to re sign who want out. think next season will be more about team spirit and putting your body there for your team mates. any not prepared to do that i think the door will be open for them to get out of the place.

He's still the goalkeeping coach but his playing career effectively ended with the 0-6 against Everton U-23s.

apart from the morecambe list i hope there are more exciting names to come up than those of the other 3 clubs listed. cannot put a face to any of these players and hope they are not setting a precident others will follow. knowing pools it will be a record in the lowest number of players released at the seasons end to go in for.

Shame about Sterry but dodds will be one of the better/best
Right backs in that division I would imagine

Assume we will be getting money for umerah?
Hamilton going back and Jennings chased hopefully, so need 2 new central strikers if we are playing 4-3-3

See Bryn Morris released at Grimsby. That’s probably the only thing Hegarty got right.

I really must say looking at that penalty he gave away it is incredible that more questions about it are not being asked. Stinks to high heaven.

why would he do something like that on purpose. they didn,t want him so thats why we got him in the first place. i,m sure JA would not have played him in the first place if had expected him to do something like that with his heart still being there.

I thought it was a very soft penalty, more the ref wanting Stockport to win than Jennings.

If Jennings is one of our main forwards for next season then we will have more chance of getting out of the Vanaramas south side.
Surely JAs recruiting cant carry on the same standard as the last 2 before him. :angry-tappingfoot: sctatchinghead

jennings went on loan to altrincham before coming to us. he started games at first but quickly ended up on the bench.know its a different club but shows how good he was with them. its a pity as his heart seems to still be in it but thats all.

the mail said his contract was to only this summer which i found odd

but then again did we find out how long any of the other deadline day signings where contracted for ?

He will do well for us at that level - but i can see him being off to a Rochdale or Oldham (where low and behold he will go there and notch for fun)

With number of players currently on Pools books we could make a 1st team and 2 reserve teams, must be quite a wage bill ?

thought there player also made the most of it. personally i,d have let play go on but it only made up for their goal being dissalowed earlier.

I'd also add Grey to that list as not good enough

That's what he said but it doesn't add up.

The dirty dozen [14] ??

..dodds ferguson paterson pruti lacey murray dolan cooke crawford niang ndjoli hastie grey umerah.

Maybe hes not counting dolan given his current loan/permanent deal ?

Maybe some cancellation deal has already been done with paterson's contract but yet to be formally signed off ?

well its out and makes for depressing reading----some really poor players still under contract we cant shift
Crawford and Finney it looks like we are stuck with, also extended Dolan contract which makes no sense unless it was a prior agreement

I am assuming Sylla extension is so we can force a fee.

Really hope we get shot of most of the ones who are under contract otherwise it will be a long season.

Askey wants athletecism he said--right now our midfield is weak as piss.....Feather, Cooke, Crawford, Dolan Finney etc--hardly an athlete among them.

Also depressing seeing names like Murray, Hastie, Lacey , Ndoji and Patterson still with us though we already knew that

a lot of work to be done between now and start of season to avoid another disaster

Does 'contract clauses exercised' definitely mean that Pools exercise a clause to keep them?
And not the player exercises a clause to go for some reason.... like relegation?

Year extended for all three listed. Presumably a fee inbound for Sylla who had a move wrapped up, foiled by this clause.

Seeing the retained list written down, there is an awful lot of work to do. Askey thought he had the core of a good side, I wouldn’t say so on that reading. Key players in all positions needed minus right back (Dodds).

At least it won’t be a team full of Scots this year (presuming we manage to remove them…) in quite frankly the most bizarre transfer policy of all time!

Understand it means we keep them--as I say assume for Sylla he'll be off and we are just looking for a fee

Can't blame Sterry for saying thanks but no thanks to whatever we offered

if all the 'ongoing' discussions say yes that leaves us with 18 players (assumimg sylla goes)--with only a handful you would be happy with as starters in the conference---really need to offload a few more to give Askey a chance to bring his own players in.

I would be amazed if Umerah kicks off for us in the NL come September. He is on his way, surely?

Askey said after the final day that Sterry wasn’t happy with a few things this season. New season, new start and all that - but another very good player who stuck two fingers up to any more of it (in fairness he was one of the only ones we managed to retain from the play off promotion team).

Would be surprised if he got a league club given the injuries but when he plays, he’s top class, so potentially something lined up. Challinor and Jake Simpson got a full season out of him too.

That'll make Sylla's agent work a bit harder. Well done Raj on the contract clause. Screw them for as much as possible

Rumours on Dodds already being touted for league clubs.

So if Sylla, Umerah, Cooke and Dodds all leave for league teams… big summer ahead.

"Contract clauses exercised" is B/S unless the player wants to stay.

Now we know what was behind the issue with Sylla.

He wants to leave but the club want a fee for him and think they might get one by taking up his contract option without his agreement, which will complicate him leaving, and piss off both him his agent. :naughty:

Seems Finney was given an 18 month contract last January transfer window. Surprised given his injury history. He is another potential crock, and I fear the worse with him sorry to say.

Sterry's never got a full season anywhere, 37 is his max games in a season, like you said great player, I wish him well.

Cash in on Umerah, another whose heart isn't in it for us anymore, as for the rest who'd spend money on them? Dodds has flashes of brilliance but he's a kid and Cooke has done frig all most the season.

We finished 2nd bottom, I doubt there'll be a long line of clubs waiting to cherry pick the talent.

Few eyes on Dodds, there was from early on when he was getting the plaudits.

Umerah there’s a queue, so highest bidder wins. Cooke nearly signed for Barrow before us, I think he’d fancy himself to get a league 2 team.

Regardless, the bigger problem is those good for nothing Scots we have retained - who even after a full season in League 2 - remain footballers with next to no experience of the English league system given they got found out as quickly as expected.

Leaving rumours to one side (always good practice as they are usually baseless) it's great to see Niang's name on the released list. Obviously there's work to do to get shot of the Hartley hangovers Hastie, Ndjoli and Paterson.

Based on recent seasons, I wouldn't expect any of the names on the ongoing discussions list except maybe Boyes to sign on again. I'm sure Featherstone, Killip and Jennings will get other offers.

Thanks and all the best to Jamie Sterry.

There were rumours of Sylla situation, come true. Rumours of Sterry departure, true. Rumours of Umerah leaving. Rumours as ridiculous as sometimes they may be, they are some slightly more ITK than others. Scouts been watching Dodds so keep your eyes peeled.

I'd keep Murray, he looked like a different player under Askey.
