Hello Poolies

About to move to the area. I grew up supporting Chesterfield but stopped following them after a racist kicked me in the head during a match against Torquay. It was the final straw. When I lived in Sheffield I followed the Blades, and since then I've had Annan Athletic, Stranraer and Kilmarnock as my "home town" clubs, so I know rubbish football when I see it.

What I want to know is, should I follow:

1 Hartlepool United?
2 Horden Community Welfare?
3 FC Hartlepool?
4 None of the above?

He wasn't, but I saw him on Friday night TV for both Dunfermline & Killie and I liked him. I thought he would do well for Pools. As for Jake Hastie, he was a hell of a talent when he first emerged with Motherwell but the move to Rangers, where he never got a look in, ruined him. It happens time after time in Scotland; the Auld Firm hoover up promising players from other clubs and then you forget all about them.

This season Jordan Jones, who left Killie for an unsuccessful spell at Ibrox, has been back at Rugby Park on loan and done very little. Best player by miles has been a lad who everybody previously thought was a waste of space; in fact he's done so well he'll probably be on his way to Glasgow this summer.

Horden Colliery Welfare were shafted in 2016 when the local council ordered them to vacate their ground, Only Gos knows why.A bit sad really.

Will we be doing a pre season tour to Spain, let’s hope it’s with a full squad this time not like last season.

If I've got this right, the original Horden CW still exist, only now, after a post-eviction spell as Darlo Reserves, they are called Darlington Town.

If they’re called Darlington Town they, they aren’t Horden Colliery Welfare anymore, the clues in the name.

It's Engelbert Humperdinck's birthday today. This fact doesn't mean that Michael George Dorsey doesn't still exist; he's the same person but with a different identity. See also Horden Colliery Welfare/Darlington Town.

Horden Community Welfare are a new club, formed in order to bring football back to Welfare Park in 2017.

It's the same with Milton Keynes/Wimbledon. You can argue that they are the same, different or same but different, but it would be a boring argument and not really worth having.

If your moving to Hartlepool itself then yeh has to be Pools all day long

if your moving to the 'area' and are local to one of the smaller none league teams then take a look at Spennymoor or Shildon aswell

can always support a pit village team and the mighty Pools - Ive been following South Shields for some time now too and always have an enjoyable day out up there and visit the beach when a can too as they have a cracking setup by the sea up there (much better than seaton)

Well my new address (fingers crossed) has the word HARTLEPOOL in it, which is good enough for me.

Fans might be interested to know that when my Mrs was working in a paper shop in Chesterfield she regularly served living legend Bob Newton. To be honest, she didn't really like him very much but she did prefer him to former World Darts Champion and notorious local miseryguts John Lowe.

That’s because they are different. This is like Triggers brush, with seven handles and ten brush heads…it ain’t the same brush despite appearances.

Last Thursday Mr.Horden and I had gone to the Northern lg.2 semi-final play off between Horden (2nd) and Birtley Town (5th), which would have been at Horden but as they have demolished their old stand was played at Easington Colliery Welfare ground instead, anyway after going 2-0 down the game finished 2-2 and went straight to penalties, which suited Birtley as they had someone sent off late on, Horden lost the shootout 5-4, the other semi was played the following night between Bedlington (3rd) and Billy Town (4th), that also finished 2-2 and Billingham won the resultant shoot out.
So Billingham played Birtley last night in the final and guess what it also finished 2-2 and Birtley won the shootout 5-4.
We go to Horden games quite regularly, as do a lot of current and ex Pools fans, as there are always Hartlepool lads in Hordens squad, the temptation to pack Pools in altogether and watch Horden at £5 a pop is becoming more of a temptation to be honest.

Aren’t FC Hartlepool who play in the Wearside League making inroads to become bigger, they want to expand Greyfields ?
