Bit of a positive post here after all the doom and gloom we have had. I think Dodds has a very bright future. I wonder though could he be played further up the pitch? I think he could play well in a midfield 3. He has a great mix of defensive skills and attacking skills but the attacking skills are wasted playing in a back 3. He’s got a good strike on him too. Can see him as a box to box midfielder for us. I don’t want to see him in a back 3 or a back 2 again. He could also do well as a right wing back which is his original position I think.

He seems the perfect replacement for the perpetually injured Sterry.

A definite possibility and worth considering.

I’d like to see him tried out in midfield, he’s got the legs and combative enough.

Think you'll find Dodds will be playing his last games, as clause in his contract will be activated with our relegation.

Is that definite or just a guess? That would be further bad news as if we needed any more after Saturday.

There have been whispers that Sunderland were interested but I can't see them pursuing that idea if they get promoted.

Has had 3 poor games of late but was tremendous before that. A prospect we could have made quite a bit of money on though, for sure. He could easily get a league team next season - shame to hear about clause in the contract.

I,m glad for the lad that he has a clause in his contract.
1 of the few genuine players.

If he has a clause it wont be that he is released for free. It may be that he is allowed to leave for a fee. After all I thought we paid Boro something for him so why would we let him go for nowt? Of course I could be wrong and Boro let him come to Pools out of the goodness of their hearts.

No reference of a fee paid here.

As I say above, I could be wrong and Boro were kind to their needy neighbours. If we got him for nowt then I guess he could well walk away after the Stockport loss, I mean match.

even with our relegation he is still playing at a higher level than he was at darlo. might be better for him sticking with pools for experiance rather than jumping ship where he could end up warming the bench with minimal time on the pitch.

A midfield role may suit him as he tends to forget his defensive duties & wanders off on one. Blame for the two Salford goals could be aimed at him

Really? He was inexplicably left marking a 6ft5 meathead for the first and it was a dog shite pass inside the Salford half from Ferguson that gave them the ball to break for their second.

He's a RWB all day long sadly having to cover as a CB through sheer lack of depth.
