A 2 goal win over Crawley deletes the GD deficit.

That win was the trigger we needed, we had to start sometime and even at 1-1 …. I thought it would be disheartening, but we’ve proved we can do it. Excellent.

Thrilled to bits with the win but just wondering why we wait till the last 20 minutes before we start playing? Is it cos Askey is cautious and doesn't want to attack from the off in case we get hit on the break? Just wondering.

Top marks Mr Askey - you deserve a few pints tonight - and a contract going through next season as well - have you listened Raj?

Excellent result but why do we allow the opposition so many shots on target. At least we were not bullied out of the game as seems to have happened to often this season.

Massive win. Let's see how Crawley fancy it here with a near full house if we're in and around them.

Swindon and Orient are good teams and we matched them/beat them. Crawley are not a good team. We've improved so much since Askey took over. UTP.

Well done the Pools. Crawley will be be getting a bit jittery tonight and hoping they can put some space between them and us before the crunch game at The Vic. Stands to reason that Rochdale would make a last ditch fight. Harrogate and Colchester not too far away now. Get 3 or 4 points over Easter and anything can happen.

Its owned by mick ford the farmer who paid £210,000 for it when it went to auction after it closed down years ago. I asked him why he bought it and he said he just happened to be at the auction when it came up and decided to bid and kept bidding until he won but quickly regretted it when he first looked at the state it was in and decided to just leave it to rot. He gets the council on his back every year asking him to secure it but its a complete waste of time its totally rotten from top to bottom.

Huge win today. Felt similar to last week in that an equaliser would get the opposition rocking, fortunately today we were able to get the winner.

Same amount injury time last week as today and we'd have won.

I think you're looking at that through the wrong end of the telescope. I'd sooner watch a team that finishes strongly than one that starts well and fades.

Pools already look a much fitter side than they did under Curle and good teams are struggling to live with us at the back end of games. It really is never say die from Askey's team and they're creating loads of late chances - just need to put a few more away.

Today the early Swindon goal from long range knocked Pools back on their heels - that wasn't in the script for a first home win in ages! After it went in the players looked nervous and the fans definitely were nervous. Second half was better but a lot of key players were having an off day - Kemp couldn't get in the game, a lot of Cooke's passes went astray and Umerah struggled. Even so, Pools found a way to get on top.

Crawley and Colchester fans crapping themselves after one Pools win - they've seen it coming too. I don't think it'll take another 5 wins to stay up - for that to be the case Crawley and Colchester need to get another 4 wins apiece - can't see that happening at all.

I was about to write the same thing Ozzy. I don’t want to be too negative because at the end of the day a win is a win and if we stay up who cares! However, having just watched Askeys interview you can see that he wasn’t happy with the first half performance and we are still allowing the opposition too much time on the ball. I personally think we should be playing a high press straight from the off. Swindon played the ball out from the back very nicely but we allowed them to do so. We have the players to play a high press
Now and it will get the crowd going from the off and will install that high energy motivation which we show towards the end of matches. I know you have to be fit to play on the front front for 90 mins but we have most of the lads fit now. There are 7 cup finals left now. Let’s show our intent what we are now made off and build on what Askey is doing. Tremendous goals and again the crowd where brilliant. I was very emotional last night. 11pm my night . Very proud to be a poolie.

I can see where you are coming from Hogan. There is the chance we could fade playing a high press from the beginning. But we are a lot fitter now and do have a bigger squad. Playing a high press and chasing every ball down as Connor Jennings does builds confidence and scares the living daylights out of away teams. Especially as it gets our fans going who are the 12th man. What does everyone else think? We have shown in recent games we can compete with the best teams and are now ready to go up another gear.

Dolan wasn’t on the bench, I thought with Murray not being 100% fit he would have been to replace Murray if he had to be substituted which he was.Featherstone an unused sub, Finney was brought on in midfield in preference to him ?

Featherstone has turned into the new Humphreys. Very much living on past glories and until recently selected time and time again despite poor performances. Humphreys was utter shite for the last few years but was untouchable. Featherstone hasn’t fallen to that level yet but is on that route.

The energy in the team and willingness to want to win was fantastic last 30 minutes yesterday. This isn't the first time this happened, doncaster, orient and walsall spring to mind. Long may late winners and late goals to get us points keep coming.

Grimsby next week is massive and now the goal difference is starting to get close. If we can win next week, its definitely game on.

Very few teams have the personnel to keep up a high press into the second half - none at all that I've seen at the level Pools play in. It works for the likes of Man City - and used to work for Liverpool, but even they have struggled with it with an ageing team this season.

doubt they are fitter but more motivated and look happier. if we can make the last 20 minutes into a 40 minuit spell or spells in the game we have a fighting chance. still behind the two C,s but now they,ll be getting more nervous than they would have been a couple of weeks ago. really more to lose than pools have now and i,d actually prefer to be in pools position on a run than theirs.

Foran was on the bench as defensive cover. Dolan and Hartley aren't getting a look in at the back because they're too slow. Featherstone isn't getting on because Askey will never play 2 defensive midfielders while Pools are chasing games - he might if Pools are 2-0 up with 20 minutes left to play, but we've never been in that position with him yet!

As it is, Featherstone is cover for Sylla if he has to come off. No shame in that, Mo has been immense in recent games. Curle wants his head examining for not playing him.

dolan looked all at sea when he came on against leyton orient. unless there is a real injury crisis i doubt we will see dolan and hartley again. didn,t take askey long to find both out so why didn,t it happen with curle. most fans are in the askey camp because of this. makes me wonder if we would have been any worse by keeping hartley, not employing curle at all and moving to askey earlier if hartley continued to fail.

Major improvement regarding us attacking the Rink End.

Fine margins n all that.

Brilliant result and a cracking strike for the winner. Maybe we have more strength in depth than it appeared we had.
All the players are busting a gut for the club and are gelling into an outfit to be reckoned with.
Keep it going boys and you just might get us there.

Has to be the shortest injury list of the season. Felt like we had half the team out for a while.

It was the worst we’d played out of the last 5 games, especially in the first half. Swindon dismantle us technically but we hung on in there. Very well overdue and deserved victory based on recent games where we have certainly been value for all 3 points. This needs to be the start of a mini run of wins.

Hopefully start quicker at Grimsby so we don’t allow them a couple goal head start. They are a very good footballing side based on what I saw from them versus Crawley and through the cup run.

Reality is if Swindon had been a bit more ruthless we would have been further behind on the balance of chances in the opening 45. Like I say though, we have earned that bit of luck with some really solid performances in March. Enjoy the win but not getting carried away just yet!
