And by hook or crook actually win this game.

Well unless Sterry trips over a daisy in training we'll have a decent right back which might help stop the crosses from that side. Hopefully Umerah will be fit and rested and Jennings is hitting goal scoring form. Yep a 2-0 loss.

Love the positivity.

What have you done with the real KPG?

I too feel positive about the game vs Tranmere. Reading their board they were more concerned about relegation rather than playoffs as they have been poor lately and struggle to score goals.

I've forgot the last time we took the lead in a game.

its hard to be positive or negative really pre match as i doubt our present or any ex managers since challinor had any idea how they will perform even from minute to minute never mid for the full game.

I know football fans can be a pessimistic bunch but you have to laugh when you hear teams like that worried about relegation. In the pub before Wimbledon their fans were worried about going down. They already have too many points for us and Crawley to overhaul them, even if they lost 15 odd straight games. Tranmere are on 47 points. So if any of their fans are thinking about relegation today then they are in cuckoo land. I'm hoping 40 points is enough for safety because it's hard to see us getting too many more than that.

I hate being pessimistic all of the time but I can’t still imagine us scoring the first goal and actually winning a match. Our defenders are just so stupid that they can’t understand basic defending . Wether our new manager can drill it in to their thick sculls I don’t know. Hartley and Curle couldn’t do it. And how many teams in the league could give a team a 2 goal start every week. Man City might be able to win but I can’t think of anyone else. And still we keep believing. We must all be deluded.

Tranmere looked absolutely dog turd last night - and the fact one of the worst teams in the league where on top for much of the game speaks volumes... and by that i mean.. we go there and get thrashed... typical Pools

but i reckon we may just escape with a silly 1-1 Umerah back on the score sheet

1-3 Reckon its a banker after watching last night's game. Creepy should have won easily but got no confidence when in and around Tranmere goal. The home side had nothing to offer in midfield or up top and needed a cenre half to scramble a winner.

Sounds like us. So a boring 2-0 loss in the first half. :shifty:

fans fall into two catogaries. the pessimist who says we,ll get relegated if we lose all our games and the optimist of a mid table side who says we,ll win promotion if we win them all. both groups rarely get it right but live off a team that has done that. not a pessimist but one who thinks they,ll curse pools if they forecast a win for them.

Tranmere may of looked useless against crawley, but I think we forget how dire we are. We had two home games last week, apart from a stirring last 10 minutes I struggle to see how we're going to get anything at Tranmere. The sick notes are all playing up again. Our best hope is that crawley somehow lose the next 5, and we miraculously pick up a few points.

Apart from the pens n a header.
It was 2 home games without a shot on target.
So i can understand the cautious approach.

But still think we gunna win.
I must be losing the plot.

This is one of our more winnable games from our final fixtures. 3 points is desperately needed.
1-2 Pools (if we have an actual right back playing)

As said above you have to be honest, we are a poor side just hoping (and praying) that Rochdale and Crawley get worse results than us or that the new manager can organise (or perform a miracle) with what he’s got.

I see from mail that despite not having played for three games Sterry has an injury........ You couldn't make it up. Hartley has concussion and Umerah's knee is still swollen. What's the feckin point?

Tranmere were crap & I mean crap on Tuesday,so it gave me hope that we could win there.
But then remembered how utter shyte we are, if we're easily beaten Saturday ,then there's simply no hope for us.

Given that the 3 games after Tranmere are
Northampton H
Bradford A. 1pm
Orient H then Tranmere really is the last chance of last chance Saloons.

Injuries happen, but Sterry gives me the impression he’s not up for the fight.

I get this impression as well, I could never understand why he committed the reckless tackle, was he so p***** off it was deliberate ?

It doesn’t matter how bad Tranmere are! You all know on current form Pools are worse. Ok we have had bad luck with injuries, we are bad all over the pitch, with very little quality of the players who are fit. If we had our best players fit and out there, I would be fairly confident of survival. Fortunately for us so far there are other teams who are struggling too. Ok a few wins would pull us out of the mire but can you see it? If the manager pulls this one off it will be the greatest escape since legend Ronnie Moore saved us

seeing out his contract as easily as possible for him and nobody else. beginning to lose the respect i had for one of our best players on the day.

This season more than most, it's a good idea to wait to see what team is actually announced an hour before kick off before assuming this or that player won't be involved. I won't be surprised if it turns out Sterry is in the starting 11.

Hope: any sort of win

Expectation: a resounding defeat after Tranmere's pitiful performance against Crawley.

Tranmere's last 6 games record is 3 x 1-0 wins & 3 x 2-0 defeats - interesting!

They on average score 1 goal a game and concede the same.

Going for 1-1 draw and small bet to eat well tonight or go hungry!

The thing is with injuries that when a team is winning players bust a gut to stay involved even when they are carrying an injury. Losing teams and players treat every knock as life changing and make themselves unavailable. Sterry would have played his career in the Championship if he had the drive to play when he wasn't quite right.

Two very poor sides. We made a chance and we took it. Can't believe they'll be as bad second half so we need to up it.

Cooke has made a difference, some actual composure on the ball. He is surrounded by long ball merchants though. Hamilton - not sure what kind of forward this guy claims to be - comes short, wins nowt, tries to go in behind and still wins nowt. Jennings is grafting and a few good touches.

Up there with one of the poorer halves that Sterry has played too. Pools defence been turned a few times with ease, Foran and Murray not blessed with pace and getting caught either coming for it or stepping off. Saunders has had 2 very good chances.

A huge second half here, nothing pretty about Pools, but something to hang onto. Both Crawley and Rochdale turning in good performances. No pressure, 3 points or bust.

A point is fair. Penalty was well outside the box. But we didn’t do enough to win that. Kemp chance at the end would have been an incredible finish and he should have stuck that away - but just not good enough really, given the position we are in. Could get ugly away at the likes of Bradford - quality wise - there’s nothing to suggest we can turn teams over that we shouldn’t.

Worked very hard though… can’t fault them on that.

Better performance by pools in the 2nd . Showed more intent but soft goal given away . Draws not enough although Crawley getting beat. Looking like us or Crawley to join Rochdale but running out of games now
