they are becoming our bastard bogie team

we needed a vital win at home when the title charge was on in the NL - thankfully we held on for 1-0 and they battered us.

same again this time for me although i think they will have enough going forwards to get a goal. can see it being 1-1 - Umerah back on the scoresheet to up his tally and his worth !

A second win on the bounce would be a real game changer and I have a good feeling about this game. I correctly predicted the 1-0 Donny win and this time going 2-0. I watched the Crewe game last night and again I believe we will win 2-0 cas they are totally lacking in confidence and have forgotten how to close players down. The players heads are down the fans are booing they look a real prospect for the swamp.

At least its a fair bet that the team at Doncaster will be used on Saturday with 1 change Josh for Trusty barring any injuries.
Sutton always a hard game lets just hope we can nick it.

Pools 2 Sutton 1

Sutton are a right bunch of barstewards. I will be delighted with a point but fear a disappointing 0-1 reverse. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm fairly optimistic we can win this game, Sutton are awkward to play against but they don't seem to travel too well, 13pts away compared to 27pts at home. They don't really have any star players but always appear a good solid unit, this is probably helped by the continuity in their squad, they have a lot of players who have been there for a good period of time. So it's a new side versus a team who know eachother well, I'm saying 2-1 to the new side!........ hopefully!!

Sutton are always a bastard to play against, I’d take a draw

I’d change

Umerah for trusty
Sylla for Feather
foran for Hartley

You cant drop Featherstone. It is probably illegal even to talk about it.

Wouldn't take Hartley out after he just played his best game since he returned.

Me neither, Don,t know why some expected Hartley to just slip back into the english game.
That was the logic used by HartleyPaul.

Speaking of HartleyPaul he,s signed Gime Toure.

I think Umerah will be fired up for this and so will the fans - Jennings will be absolutely bouncing to get off the mark for his new club and no better way to do it than at home infront of us lot ! this extra amount of confidence plus the new lads still wanting to impress (again infront of us)... we have to see this as a win.

they arnt anything special at all - nor have anyone that i feel can tear us a new one, as someone else pointed out (especially not anymore) Beutyman always been their standout player but its obvious enough now - shut him down and they dont have any other avenue apart from tha pacey winger i think whos still there.

We will win because we have to.
We will not lose again this season at home.
Just hope after Sutton we dont get to many 2 points dropped draws.
Thats the reality of this going for Promotion season.

Pick a team to win next game not the last one---Sutton will be v physical and dangerous from set pieces and would rather have a 6ft 2 21 year old against that than a 34 year old who is less mobile than he used to be and prone to give away free kicks they can exploit

I gather the Donny supporters mentioned Hartley as a stand out for Pools last Saturday, although they referred to him as "that bald defender".

spot on. its horses for courses. last two games we have seen both sides of hartley and i,d keep him fresh for the game at crewe where they are less of a physical threat.

100% agree - Hartley could and probs will get mashed by them... rather have the physical presence on the field against these tbh

A tough call, I must admit. Hartley has years of experience so will have played against thugs like these many times but isn't getting any younger. On the other hand, the Arsenal youngster is big and strong and most likely quicker than Hartley but lacks experience; it might be he wont know what has hit him. As I say, its a tough one but I'm inclined to stick with Hartley.

never seen the Arsenal lad play so dont want to over egg it , but it would be very surprising if he isn't a very effective defender at this level, and by all accounts he is a physical/vocal player.
that being said lets see how he is when he actually plays.

This is it, the Arsenal lad is an unknown quantity and maybe it would be too much of a risk to play him against this particular team in such a vital fixture. At the end of the day KC will make the call and we have to have faith he knows what he is doing.

For me it all depends if Sterry plays.
If not Dodds RB "TheAresnal" next to Hartley.

I think a back 3 of Pruti,Dodds & Foran might be a bit inexperienced for a shithouse team like Sutton.
Stick with Hartley & maybe rest him against Crewe.

Feck me, we’re playing Sarf London upstarts not the Dirty Dozen.
Match em on the pitch and leave the rest to providence.

sutton cannot be that brilliant as they,d be walking the league if they were. they,ll have a weak point somewhere and hope KC has seen it. Just why do they look better than they are when they play pools. there are similar teams in this league.

Curle said Sutton always come out of the traps really hard when the game starts and at the beginning of the second half, but they have a habit of conceding goals as each half winds down.

Presumably he wants Pools to stand up to their early pressure then go after them. Considering how many soft early goals we have conceded in both halves this season it should be a good test of whether the team really is progressing.

Hartley injured and replaced with….Dolan
Didn’t see that coming

Black pool lad out which makes sense though
Worrying Murray still lurking on the bench

Can't imagine a situation where he'd get the nod to come on ahead of Forlan. Pools have had at least one, maybe more trialists training with them this week - unregistered players who took the option of getting their contracts cancelled last month.

I'd have money on at least one of them being another centre back.

Pools very poor and the defensive is pathetic. As I speak Sutton rightly have one of their thugs sent off.

Lovely free kick from Kemp to pull one back.

2-1 down at half time and they’re down to ten men. The picture has changed dramatically in the last ten minutes.
