Man City have been hit with more than 100 charges of alleged breaches of financial rules, which could lead to a points deduction or even expulsion from the Premier League.
How many of the other Premier League clubs are breaching the rules ?

I doubt any of it will matter in the long run, and that all the other clubs are likely behaving in a similar manner

We all know that the Premier League is all about money, and no supporters of club like Pools should be surprised by these "revelations".

Money may not be able to dance, sing and walk - but it always talks...

imagine them being expelled for a few seasons - surely that couldnt happen....

but if its a fine based hit - they will just pay it and get on with it .... then other teams will do the same, makes no sense !

can see it being a harsher punishment tbh with points deducted !

Chelsea’s spending last month came to 321 million! How on Earth can you justify that?

They're asking for special dispensation because they couldn't buy anything for a few months when Putin's thieving buddy who bankrolled them for over a decade was sanctioned. Bless violin

Chelsea get away with it because they pay the transfer fee over a few years, I believe one of their signings got an 8 year contract with the transferfee being spread out over 8 years.
Man. City at the worst could get a points deduction suspended until they put their finances in order.

I heard someone on Talk Sport radio saying there is a possibility they could get relegated to the Championship if found guilty.

Seeing that Pools got docked points for a non-registered player we would be relegated to the 9th division of the greatham and district salt cellar league and all club officials hung on the fish sands as a public spectacle.

Of course it will never happen but losing a league place for every single financial breach seems fair to me (over 100 in total)

It took over 4 years for the investigation to come to a conclusion I imagine it will take another 2 years before any decision is made re a punishment, City will just keep appealing.

I will lose no sleep whatever the outcome, the Premiership is an elitist old boys network and anticipate no outcome of ant consequence in the realm of silly money.

Surely they cant be only fined after 4 years of investigation.
Unless the investigators are just as corrupt receiving financial benefits backhanders.
Sep Platters of the FA.
Certainly wudent rule that out.

some team should be made an example of unless the whole premier league would have done or are doing just the same. its not sport as i know it up there but a costly television programme. honestly i know it will never happen but i,d prefer watching pools in the national league north playing alfreton away than arsenal in the prem.

The Boro got docked 3 points as they said they couldn’t field a team against Blackburn whilst they probably would have been relegated anyway would one of the ‘bigger’ clubs suffered the same fate ?

Problem is that if action is taken against City then the authorities will have to do likewise with Chelsea, Everton, Leeds, etc. The only winners here will be the lawyers.

yes, you would think there is only one city or united. hope liverpool never jump on calling themselves pools. mind you it could be worse with all these yank owners about as i,m sure one day a club will adopt an american versuon of their name like wrexham red socks spelt sox.

Funnily enough, wherever Yanks take over they give US names it seems so we’d be the Hartlepool Buffaloes FC…. You can often see majestic herds of them grazing at the North Gare migrating to Grayfields for the winter…… if you’re pizzed.

Well we are the little America and now call murder homicide / our fire brigade now use the American triangle sign and use the fog horns siren. And the bloody fast food empire is everywhere not to mention other business and football which will soon be called football. The United Kingdom of America God help us..

Surely a fine would be counterintuitive. All of these charges revolve around money. So punishing them by telling them to spend more money will make little difference. Points deductions and demotions are surely the only punishments suitable.

A fine to a rich man is nothing..to a poor man it is ruination…same in football clubs.
Therefore the only truly effective sanction that is effective equally at all levels of the game is relegation or points deductions, bearing in mind the time a points deduction is made, as this is toothless if a team is safe from relegation near the top of the league in question.

5 year euro ban, 5 year transfer embargo. Then no need for a points deduction.

There are certain words that are banned via the swear filter and its not the usual suspects.

S*ccer auto translates to football because thats what its called in civilisation.
fillums changes to films because again, we're not yanks
F.A.O. (without the full stops) changes to 'oy, you!'

anything associated with yanks and the premier league leaves a bad taste worse than mcdonalds in my mouth. ever watch game or quiz shows and you,ll find for sure at least one question in it is usa related and the news rarely mentions stuff that happens abroad unless its a major incident like in turkey now. different as a lot of usa news gets on for a reason i do not know. how many tarks are they living in this country and people with relatives over there. far less than the indian sub continent i,d guess. seems some are obsessed by all things yank so why not borrow a dinghy from dover and seek asylum in the land of the free.

The one Yank phrase I detest is them saying ‘math’ instead of ‘maths’….the word is ‘mathematics’..not mathematic……anyway it’s our language so feck off.

Drive Thru gets me as its drive past when i see that. notices that have yank spellings like color for colour get altered by me but the woman at my local club hasn,.t got the message yet. possibly spending too long at the sodding fillums rather than the pictures or cinema. how many shopping centers do me have or malls insread of centres.
