Well who could have predicted that. Positives goally, Dan Dodds what a goal. Midfield stiil not on the front foot but 5% improvement. The result is the main thing and the confidence it brings the team

Way more than 5% in my view. An improvement in every area and this new keeper seemed to instill confidence. I’ve made a point of not criticising Ben Killip but this lad looks different bisto.

League table says it still a major ask.
Hopefully 3 points next week to keep the dream alive.
Dont forget v Sutton 59th minute for Talla.
One of Pools loyalist fans.

Don’t want Harrogate to go down. But, if it comes to the crunch once a poolie always a poolie no matter where you live. Koh Samui at the moment

Crewe after Sutton is a big game, they have been in pretty awful form and have been dragged into the relegation fight.

One factor we haven’t figured in, is team X….. that team that in the second half of the season, in a comfortable position, suddenly finds it’s arse dropping out and starts tumbling down the league, there’s always one struggling with a collapse in form.

brilliant. first away league win since before the national league i have seen live. we were up against it for most of the game but aot a perfect performance but certainly gives you more faith and something to build on. gain it shows posession means sod all if you lose the game. a great turn out from the fans making the trip as the last few games gave more of a reason to stay at home. keep these clean sheets coming and not get back to old ways v sutton. perfect away performance by keeping a clean sheet and nicking one in the end.

the crewe pitch is absolutely shit especially down the main stand side. a lottery where the bounce of the ball could decide the game. i certainly will not be ringing up samaratans if we only take 2 points out of these games especially with our previous performances against sutton.

I definitely feel more positive after yesterday, Donny had more of the second half but only created one really good chance which the keeper stood up to, we had the best chances first half. Nice to keep a clean sheet and nick a goal late on, great goal as well by the way!. Considering a few new players were in it was a good team performance, solid and more organised, kept our shape and got blocks in when needed.
The new keeper did well, had an air of confidence about him. Dodds was class again, some player this lad. Hartley played his best game since he returned. Pruti has the odd rash decision and miss placed pass in him but looks a good prospect as well. Ferguson and sterry defended well without really causing problems going forward. Probably Featherstone best game in a while, Finney put a shift in but didn't really get on the ball to much, trusty seems a tad cautious for me which is understandable in our position and him being young, would like to see him show a bit more. Kemp does look a player, good on the ball and grafted as well, could be very useful especially when we are on the front foot trying to break sides down. Jennings had a good first half, good link up play and actually good in the air, dropped a bit deeper when Umerah came on. Fantastic vision from josh to see Dodds run, made a difference when he came on. Kiernan looks to have a bit of know how, missed players who have game management and a bit of shithousery but he did that well when he came on.

Great atmosphere from pools fans in one of the most soul less grounds you will visit!

I know it's quite a big ground but no way did they have 6000 fans at that match.

Despite the win it was pretty clear that this is a team still getting to know each other. This in my view is a positive as they will only improve.

It was actually fairly comfortable. Was just like Crawley away where you could tell we were facing a pretty terrible team. Some decent positives to take from the game.

Sutton will be a tough test, we always find it hard against them. A full week on the training ground will do them good. Kemp adds quite a bit to us going forward, always looks for the killer ball. Out of nowhere it felt like we had movement and positivity coming from centre midfield, was disappointed to see Dolan come on as I really fancied Sylla to come off the bench and surge forward as we have so often seen.

I’ve criticised Hartley but he was good yesterday. With Pruti and Dodds either side, he has genuine pace to protect him. If he’s isolated 1-1 though, he’s definitely finished. Hartley yellow card is the Xhaka yellow card gimme, lump a fiver on each game

Sterry played a half volley ball out wide to Ferguson at one point that was vintage Pools under DC, was a joy to see. He’s pure class.

Jennings played two very good hold up play balls off to Sterry and then Finney which led to good chances. Saw enough from him to say he’s an upgrade on Hamilton. Umerah though… different gravy.

Think Tayty might get dropped, needs to take responsibility and break forward - taking the easy option far too often and reminds me of a classic luxury player such as an Ozil type.

All in though, it was a great day. Far and away better than the trips we will face if the likely happens and we are National League next season.

Can we hope the keepers there for keeps….. he filled me with confidence by his appearance alone, so surely the defenders can take their wing mirrors off now.

Kemp stood out like a sore thumb, Will make all the differance in the world.
Finney was like a shelton with more about him, Tireless.
Jennings looked like he had been playing Lge2 all season, Lot of guile.

Keeper, as Snowy said fills players with confidence.

jennings was a surprise as he gave more than i expected from him. hope its a case of going out with a bang instead of a whisper. agree with the rest and the keeper actually looks like one but you do not have to be a world beater to improve on flapper.

From what the lads told me as i missed the game - Kemp and Jennings did very well ... tracked and closed down players and Jennings doing the right things - think he can play as a No10 aswell so seeing him drop deep isnt a surprise and actually good to see.

Tasty is far too raw to be shot straight into the 11 - not sure what KC is thinking with this one - i know he does okay but when you have better players on the bench id like to see our best 11 utilised - Sylla for me has to be in there. He is also a presence in the box.

I think we will see a totally different Pools going forwards now and something will just click... probs a good air of enthusiasm brought in aswell with so many new bodies - hopefully Feaths can have another good game saturday

I can second this. Went to their game last night and was really surprised by the state of their pitch. These days you get pretty fantastic surfaces even in the lower leagues. Took Leyton Orient 20 mins or so to get used to it and then they absolutely dominated. Crewe were very poor. Roundly booed at full time. I felt like telling them not to worry since we're in town next week.
