If he’s a 6ft 5 defender and keeps Hartley and Murray off the pitch that works for me.

Really needed an experienced striker though

How many loans are we allowed in the squad ?
Thought it was 5 but think that will be 6 now…

Be just like us to stay up then get points deducted for not knowing the
Rules and going down

Well 8 now - less Paterson as not here, Menayese as injured, think the rule is you can only have 5 on the pitch at any one time.

no a 6ft 5 defender who has had some league games and not a kid learning the game who may be technically good but without the heart we need. totally pointless just scoring goals if you conceed more. at least a bore goaless draw gives you a point.

I remember watching a strapping eighteen year old who was world class at that young age and he could have walked into any team. His name was Duncan Edwards so looking at this Arsenal lad I feel a twinkling of hope. Can't see him being pushed around or bullied and he has been coached by Mertesacker. If he cuts out the free headers we tend to present to the opposition that will be a major contribution.
I have a good feeling about this signing.

I agree with this. Think this could be a decent signing, he also seems pretty quick based on a few clips

He's a regular in their U-23 side at 19 and played in all their Pizza Cup games. Considering the massive resources Arsenal have to call on at all levels that's quite something. I'm surprised we got him to be honest.

The only problem is him, Dodds and Pruti are all new to League 2. Sure KC will want Dolan or Hartley in central defence just for the benefit of their experience - at least to begin with. The young lads should all be fast learners.

so basically he is at a similar level to those everton kids that showed us up at the vic a few months back. How many games against league 2 sides did they play against. we can all feel a bit let down on the signings but cannot give up on any before they kick a ball in anger for us.

I am sure the kid is a far more developed player in central defence than we currently have.

yet again this board providing absolute shite out of peoples mouths - bet half the people who rabble on here havnt even been to a game this season !

Have you seen him play ... No

do you know anything about the level of football that he plays at playing the Premier league U23 league... again NO...

pipe down and wait for the kid to make an appearance

there is a reason hes at the best team in the countries academy and a reason hes playing U23 level football at 19...

all the kids ive seen make it in the prem are of this ilk - they come to clubs like us to sharpen their tools, he was getting game time and featured in cup games so Arsenal are doing us a favour.... also i guarantee hes better than Lacey and Murray put together !

Yes, the ones who beat our League 2 squad 6-0 without breaking sweat.

This is what the Arsenal news site Daily Cannon says about Foran:
"Foran is a leader on the pitch, both in terms of the way he gets stuck in physically, and in the way he organises and encourages his teammates.
The teenager should be well-suited to the football league, which you can’t always say for youth players."

Aye those Everton kids tore us a new aperture. I was especially impressed with Tom Cannon and murmured as to why I'd like Pools to try and loan him. He's currently at Preston on loan. not surprising.

Whilst I agree wit Eiphos I would like to point out that although it says ‘under 23’ the players are mostly 18 - 20yr olds.

Let’s not forget how good Jack Baldwin was when he joined us at 18 and he’d come from non-league.

exactly !

the only U23 type players i like to see are the ones from the premier league sides - when i heard we had signed yet another kid, i sighed... then hearing he was from the gunners i immediately changed my attitude. There has been alot of players who over the years have come from these academies and ended up at top teams and are still playing today. They tend to offer the best sort of apprentices if you like. Im sure he will do just fine for us - he has been schooled the best way by the best coaches - this isnt some Boro / Mackem reject.

Christian Burgess was another young lad who took league 2 in his stride.

I wouldn’t hesitate to put a lad with that background straight into the team.

at least making a debut away from home is better than at the vic if things do not go totally his way. he will not have thousands moaning and groaning if he makes an error. those who do turn up away are a bit more forgiving. its not as if he has anything to prove by replacing murray or lacey.

Timi will be one of those... could of been should have been...

he should have stayed with us and learned his trade - he would be much better you would like to think by the end of this season and then someone would come in and give him an even better opportunity maybe back in the Championship - very bad advice given... chased the money for what a couple of seasons to be probably back playin in the NL if nothing changes come the summer for him

Exactly.

His game will NEVER improve from the bench.
And will probably be discarded eventually

Think he only became a regular through Graham Lee.

Challinor very rarely played Odisina, he kept making mistakes giving goals away, Lee played him and that secured his move away from Pools as he seemed to pick up. He has I believe only made 4 appearances for Bradford so obviously only there as back up.

It must be true because someone saw him do it or maybe were listening in on the call otherwise it surely wouldn’t be on here. I wonder if it was a giggle of one of those evil laughs where he rubbed his hands together while doing it sctatchinghead

Timi will end up back here as no one else will have him... he will come crying back

needs to go out on loan and play another full season in the NL under a good management team

If he had been any good he would have been at Stockport but Challinor could see flaws in his game.

can see bradford terminating his contract by mutual decision and will end up somewhere in the national league possibly for life. he isn,t going to get any quicker over the years and speed was his main attribute by making up for his cockups.
