This is what the OS said in the summer:
"Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of Josh Umerah.

The Forward joins on a two-year deal from Wealdstone FC for an undisclosed fee."

It's a test of whether Raj Singh is remotely serious about keeping Pools in the Football League. If he's sold that's me done for the rest of the season.

There has already athread been started on this rumour Mr F.

If he goes, the charades over and it’s a closing down sale, because selling him would scream to me that there is no ambition or future for the club under the present stewardship.

All this talk of in for x number of strikers was just so that Pools could offload Umerah for a nice transfer fee.

Question is will they still go ahead with the sale even though we cannot attract a replacement.

If a team offers 100 grand.
He will be gone.
The full TW has confirmed our relegation.
When back in December we were told it would save us.
Talk about moving the goalposts.

Doesn’t matter they give us, if it was a million, we couldn’t spend it if we wanted to.

Seems a club fighting relegation is struggling to attract any experienced players no matter what the money is, I fear the worst ☹

I am guessing Umerah would be keen to move to a team higher up the pyramid so I presume the club wouldn't stand in his way. If they did block the move he would be extremely peed off and may not give his best. I'm afraid he'll be gone within the next 24-36 hours. If there was any doubt about our relegation this confirms it. Looking forward to playing the likes of Eastleigh and Woking next season if Pools still exist by then. Pissed off? The words dont do the feeling justice.

He owes us a year
Be pissed if he is agitating, he will likely move to a league one or ambitious league 2 team at end of season

I am definitely not saying he is agitating. I am not blaming Josh in any way. If a club from a higher division makes an offer which is most likely going to involve higher wages, any player would be daft to turn it down. Josh didnt ask to leave, by the sound of it, Burton made a bid and the logical consequences will follow. Not Josh's fault. I wish him all the best

If we do go down my involvement might just disappear as well, I haven't been to a game this season but bought the live matches and commentaries but the fact I won't travel the eight or so miles to Donny rovers ground on Saturday is testament to where I am at at the moment.
Really can't be arsed.

Allegedly there are 3 teams in the mix for Umerah. Interest isn't new, Curle also alluded to it recently ('if it's right for the football club').

If Umerah is offered a better deal and wants go Pools can’t stop him, remember James, he refused to play when an offer came in for him.

He’s our player, never mind the money, the money will be useless, we can’t spend it on players so what’s in it for us…nothing.
If, and it’s a big if, a player wants to sulk like a child, let them, we’ll be no worse off will we?
In reality, if Umerah goes you can kiss goodbye to any remote chance of avoiding the drop, ….and accepting an offer is a slap in the face to every fan and indicates we’re being took for mugs.
If the chairman and manager have any ambition for this club we must hang to players like Umerah and build around them.
The transfer window has been a trip up the garden path via the road to nowhere, an insult to our intelligence, to call it disappointing would be generous..
If josh Umera goes there’ll be an indication for all of us what the futures gonna be, not worth bothering with.

Agree with all the above and there should be eruptions if we do not replace him! although going off our latest business it seems we couldnt buy a free ticket to the raffle if we tried ! shocking really - i didnt think we would be in this much of a dire situation.

i honestly cannot see anyone coming into replace Josh if he goes - maybe some kid from the NL ... if we lucky...

what we dont want is a Boro u23 or Sunderland u23... just wont cut it

what Josh will find though going into that level of football is - the defenders arnt so kind with the amount of time you have on the ball - the battling he does will be found out and dare say be scrubbed out of his game a little should the manager feel necessary - funny the way the game has gone - they like you to play with your feet and not your body as much these days.
he also needs to learn to shoot with his left foot as he does alot of rolling players onto his weaker foot which is strange - plus his aerial game will also need to improve !

Perhaps Raj has realised our league position means relegation and sales such as Josh will help pay off his "loan". He may see spending money on strengthening the team as throwing good money after bad. He wont want to be rushed into sale at less than the valuation he wants and may wait until the summer to sell by that time we will be in the National league.
Pools will still be in existence hopefully with a reasonable owner and we can support our team at our level.
He will sail into the distance with his money whatever that is.
Will history say he was the saviour of the club in its direst hour or the chairman who took us back into the National league who damaged the club irrevocably?

I have no doubt if Raj can sell josh he will and not bat an eyelid.
Raj has form with Darlo and we were to blind to see it just look over the last couple of years he has took out every penny he can pools is a cash cow and he is going to milk it for every penny.
We should have took our chancers with administration because by the looks of it we are going to end up there anyway.
Overall Raj has never had any ties with pools and if you think he was going to save pools out of the goodness of his heart then his overall plan for pools has worked perfectly.

As I said earlier, allegedly 3 clubs are in for him - and the negotiations are far from over. First bid turned down, second very much in.

Hope I'm wrong but Raj is looking more and more like a cheapskate Mike Ashley (if that's possible)

it seems obvious that Josh will be sold to whoever bids the highest as long as Raj feels the highest is enough. No idea what kind of figures are being tabled.

I hear that Raj is asking a bit extra for Umerah so he can pay another club to take Hastie off our hands.

So who can see in to the crystal ball. Mystic Meg! Are we going to get a notification at 11.50pm that Umerah has been sold but it’s good business because we bought a striker and midfielder from the northern league to compensate. Oh god I am so cynical

Knowing our luck he’ll sell him and tell no one he’s been sold. Then tell us he has a long term injury for the rest of the season…and that the bloke playing for another team of the same name is his identical twin brother.

Knowing Pools we will sell umerah, then sign Jimmy 5 bellies off the rec. His record will be 3 goals in 150 matches and injury prone.

Selling Josh could be a blessing in disguise as well as please the "Raj out" movement.
If the fee is enough to settle any debt owed to Raj he can then advertise the club is for sale at a reasonable price and therefore make a profit.
The only danger would be who he agrees to sell it to.

so what do you think the undisclosed fee would be for him if he is sold. its hard to say but somehow i cannot see it more than 100k which in football terms is a drop in the ocean. raj in not a poolie and with the stick he does recieve i doubt he will be bothered who he sells to as long as it suits him and a sale could be his final two finger salute to us all.

This site is no friend of the current Hartlepool regime - the fantasy takeover bid was their 'exclusive.' Hope their information on this story has some basis in reality - we'll know by the end of today.

I have no idea what the fee would be so won't even guess. I am suggesting it might be enough to influence proceedings.
I tend to agree with your thoughts on Raj not being bothered or the possibility of vindictiveness on his part but because I have never met the man, don't have any idea of his make up, I stopped short of speculating on it. There is reason to think you might be right though.

I’d imagine he’ll go when the circumstances are in his favour…which may or may not be to our advantage. Troubled seas ahead on and off the pitch.

It was rumoured we paid 60k to Wealdstone for him in the summer and that was a figure coming from their end, Raj is a doyle but he is a successful businessman, he's not gonna let Josh go for 100k, after 13 goals at EFL level and today's mental market he must be around the 250-300K bracket.

There's only two problems with that. One is that selling Umerah would all but guarantee National League football next season - not an attractive proposition for a new owner. The other is that the complete chancers would call £1 a reasonable price for the club, and a potential buyer with real money doesn't seem to exist. It's gone very quiet on that front since the Jack Ryan's fantasy consortium was ruled out of the running.

Selling Josh could be a blessing in disguise as well as please the "Raj out" movement.
If the fee is enough to settle any debt owed to Raj he can then advertise the club is for sale at a reasonable price and therefore make a profit.
The only danger would be who he agrees to sell it to.

That's why I keep saying to ease off Raj, cos if he does up and off we have no idea where that will end. That's not being a Raj lover or backer it's simply pure realism.
