What would be the point of bringing in a new striker when we don’t create any chances? We’ve got a prolific striker. We haven’t got any attacking midfield players who have pace, can go past defenders and score 8 - 10 goals a season. We have no goals in our midfield.

Fair point but I do not see us getting more than one player in.. So midfield / striker or a brick wall to put in front of Killop. sctatchinghead

Possibly a few available players have a few offers, waiting until the last minute as they might receive better offers.

The midfield last night was as creative as two skeletons having sex and hoping to have a baby.
It was anonymous, bland, weak….Featherstone was on the field, but so was the grass, Niang was anonymous, no influence whatsoever in fact I can’t recall who was doing anything of consequence in midfield and why was Sylla on the bench….?
If your forwards are going to fire their gun they need the midfield need to supply the ammo, they went missing last night leaving the defence uncovered and wallowed as the game went over them.
A dismal display.

This....and Crawford coming back won't improve that either, Holohan and Hawkes at least gave us some goals, our current midfield are just turn and pass merchants, no penetratration, defence splitting balls or shots, infact noticed Featherstone will do anything to avoid having to shoot. Totally lacking in invention.

two players who were replaced by a different type of midfielder without goals in them. some defenders score more goals than we do from midfield. thing is where do you start. poor keeper, poor defence, no goals from midfield and only josh up front. what is the number one priority with so much to do.

What few chances Pools are creating are coming from anywhere but midfield. Cooke is a miss because he does make an impact around the opposition penalty area - 2 goals and 4 assists so far this season.

In the last couple of games Grey and Niang have both been tried playing just behind Umerah and Hamilton. Grey is industrious but not making things happen where it matters - he's got one assist all season and it's getting on for a year since he last scored. Niang isn't an attacking midfielder and looked lost till he was hooked last night. Mo Sylla doesn't fit the attacking bill either but can count himself very unlucky to be dropped.
