Not predicting but more optimistic after yesterday with the new lads performing well. Got to take Featherstone out and play Sylla, and I'm not a Featherstone hater but I think he's past his sell by date now.

i,d actually play both from the start, change the formation with gray on the bench to come on later in the game. much prefer him as a playing sub than a starter.

A defeat I’m afraid. Despite the defence looking better, Carlisle won’t miss chances like Rochdale did.

Carlisle Utd 1 Hartlepool Utd 1 Umerah. Loads of Poolies but would have been even more if it was on a Saturday.

Don't agree. Though when Cooke is fit again there is no way Pools can play a midfield 3 of Featherstone-Dolan-Cooke, so something will have to give.

No new forward.
Will the new keeper be in the team or does he have to wait for more Killipness.
I hope he doesn't concede as many throw in as BK but that should be impossible.

Leicester City his parent club I believe won’t want him warming the bench, young players are sent out for game time and as we don’t have a reserve team the first team is the only option

They don’t do it all the time ….only when they’ve been working all week and turn up at the ‘girlfriend’s ’ on a Friday night and find she’s getting sheared, that’s when they take their frustration out on seats.

very soft goal

Poor defending from Hartley to begin with which lead to the corner.
Killip then should have done better as shoudl defender on near post
...shite alround

No idea why Niang is starting before Sylla

Two down after just less than half an hour. Got all the markings of a hammering. Wasnt expecting anything out of this game but was hoping it would have been a bit closer because we seem to have recruited some decent defenders. Pools never fail to disappoint. Just hoping the score wont be too embarrassing.

only one winner at the minute.
Only positives are Umerah as usual and Pruti,

Ferguson is at least holding his own.

Gordon for Carlisle reminds me a bit of Burey for us last year

If I had to guess I would say this ends 3 or 4-1

We've gifted them 2 goals and nearly allowed them to score another. There isn't much between them. Hamilton winning the ball. Murray holding it up. Distribution and set pieces poor. I didn't think Ferguson was in the game tbh. We are hanging in there and can still get something from the game.

Best thing you can say about that half is there's only 1 goal in it.

Got to be some changes made at half time. Sterry on at right wing back for a start - Dodds into the back 3.

Have we recruited decent defenders, the defence has been shocking so far, it doesn't help when your midfield has no legs whatsoever in it, which makes the decision to get rid of shelton before we replaced him even more ridiculous.

Pruti looks good, Menayse is up against a very good player and Hartley has been very poor.
Dodds looks good going fwd but not great positionally

As I said not sure why Niang is on in front of Sylla

We haven't a clue if pruti or dodds can defend yet, first real test tonight and on this performance Hartley will struggle to get another game.

Hartley looks what he is a player a few years past retirement at league level

I see that so far they have had 11 shots on target. Thats a lot even by Pools standards. I know Carlisle are a good team but surely KC would have had a game plan to try to nullify their threat. Not saying we could have got anything out of the game but it seems we have made it easy for them.

Killip and Hartley both with poor performances, and midfield outclassed meaning no chances created for the fwds

beaten by a much better team

Now Menayse injured and stretchered off ffs

On the plus side we still have a week to sign some football league standard players.
