So according to Chris Sutton it will be a comfortable 4-0 win for Stoke. Hope the Pools players hear of this. Keith Curle should pin this up in the dressing room no other team talk needed. Pride Pools go out there and give your all that's what we want. For F... sake they don't have Sir Stanley Matthews or that Swiss guy Shaq whatever his name is. They are not that good are they?

Can see a shock draw with another shock in the replay

Yes Critical Thinking. Love to see him if Pools do them for a second time. Gillingham are beginning to scare me more than Stoke City.

The same Gillingham who have scored 7 league goals all season? They have done well in the cups but to be 5pts behind us at this stage shows how poor they really are at present.

Yeah you are right Richy but you know Pools. It just smacks to me of they will score a few soon and... Hope I am horribly wrong.

Gillingham were on the telly against Leicester and looked decent against a full strength Leicester side. True they dont score many but they defend really well. They have Mandron up front who may have a good day against our always injured or playing out of position defence. I hope I'm wrong.

On these big televised occasions, players up their performances.. zGillingham we’re no exception, a day for a lot of battling performances in the Cup yesterday.

Yeah you are right Snowy so let's hope Pools forget the league for one game, up theirs literally and keep the improvement going.

in the end leicester did just enough to get through, but in that first half were they were pumping long balls with the wind straight to the keeper a better side might have took advantage and gave us a shock.

Nah! I'd rather be battered and fluke a win than lose.

Quite a few managers have been sacked after getting beat by the mighty Pools.

£105,000 for the winners, so forget the negativity & realism, get behind the team & hope we can beat them

Give the Players & Manager a couple of grand bonus to win. Let's see if money does really talk.

Looks like Josh Laurent will be starting for Stoke. A Craig Hignett signing for Pools, flogged off by Dave Jones the season we got relegated to the NL. He's had a good career since, always with Championship or League One clubs.

Pools have been poor but then Stoke haven’t been much better. All in all pretty awful fare. The biggest problem with Pools is that they look lethargic.

Haven't played for over a week so no reason to be lethargic unless they are being over trained.

Pools have been utter shite. This’ll end up with one or two more for a very average Stoke city.

Not overly arsed about losing. We’ve got to concentrate on the league. The manner of the defeat was shite though. We look like Sunday league at best. Hopefully Raj pulls his finger out this window like he has done before when we’ve got desperate.

Yes it would have been nice if we had given Stoke a game. According to the stats we didnt have a shot on target throughout the match. Umerah going off injured is also a real cause for concern. Everyone knows the current Pools side is one of the worst we have had in quite some time but you wonder why they were not prepared to put up a fight in front of their own fans. A thoroughly depressing afternoon all round.

And just like that today goes from a free hit to a gigantic missed opportunity. I'd have fancied Stevenage at home, theyd probably want to concentrate on the league and would probably under estimate us.

Will never forget us imploding against Gillingham a few years back, they then played Slough and beat a Cardiff City team that decided to play the kids if I remember rightly.

Jamie Sterry was a massive miss again - not just because he's an actual right back with a bit of pace but because he wouldn't have been overawed by a near bottom of the Championship side that made loads of changes for a cup tie. There weren't many on the pitch with the right mindset to get at them (Umerah, Ferguson) and the game was over as a contest after the second goal.

KC trying to accentuate the positive by bigging up the kids - I wish he'd been brave enough to play Louis Stephenson from the start, and against Harrogate too for that matter.

Quite a few in the Mill House vented their spleen by singling out Hastie for criticism after he came on. Bit unfair considering how badly the team was playing, but on the other hand he is utter shite.

Thought Stoke were piss poor. But we found a new level of lowness yesterday.
No effort passion commitment.
Basically lied down for them.
Anyhow time to concentrate on league survival.
Horrendous missed header by Hamilton to make it 1 1.
Was impossible to miss.

turned off tadio tees after the 3rd went in. sounded as bad as it was. hope umerah,s injury is something and nothing as him being out for any length of time is far worse than the defeat in a competition neither of yesterdays sides will win.

Stoke supporters are content as you would expect and comments predictable.

“Glad we’ve signed this OG fella, he’s exactly the sort of forward we’ve been missing all season”

The two own goals illustrate what Pools have been missing in their attacks this season - crosses put into the right area where forwards can attack the ball & defenders are facing their own goal. Ferguson is being baulked from doing that when he has a wide player in front of him - mind you, a lot of his other crosses have not been up to his standard of previous seasons

we were not on our own though. listened to DC after match comments on their defeat by walsall saying the fans deserved a replay but not the players. does make you wonder what interest many players nowadays have in the competition.
