Yes should start with all of the players the dick head brought in during the summer.

Not sure there has ever been a 3rd round cup tie at Pools with so little enthusiasm. We could somehow miraculously win get man u in round 4 and it wouldn't make an ounce of difference to us.

If the powers that be don,t get their fingers out regarding signings there could be a poor gate come saturday.

Why get a tck if the club are holding back on signings.
Just a whisper.

Dolan on the bench for Newport today, so that could well be dead in the water.

Danny Dodds RB from the boro, been on loan at Darlo and a standout performer for them.

I wouldn't worry too much - the Bunker isn't the best barometer of interest in actually going to games as only a handful of the people who post even pretend to be regular attenders.

As for winning through and drawing Man U - demand for tickets would be immense and some folk would be on here complaining bitterly if they didn't get one. Go figure

It's a bit of a shame really a year ago we would of fancied beating them, now we're more concentrated on trying to stay up.

and thats the reason for any lack of interest. the cash cow for lower league clubs is a barren one for us as we know after last season. apart from that as the years go by there is less and less interest in knock out competitions that start at the real grass roots of local saturday afternoon and sunday morning parks football where many sides now do not enter sides in county cup competitions. a case of why bother we will not win it anyway.

"Pools 1 Stoke 0 Killip saves a penalty." Match held up 9 minutes before the kick is taken when Elvis appears from the CK stand and a load of Martians materialise on the centre circle.

Oh yeah and Luke Armstrong is presented to the fans as a Marquee signing just after the Martians are removed by the local constabulary.

All the above is more likely than Pools keeping a clean sheet against Championship opposition.

OK Hartleblue I'll join the party and agree. Pools 1 Stoke City 0. Killip saves a pen after giving it away and Josh scores it (if he's still here) plays his final game for Pools and leaves on a high. Stoke's manager whoever he is, says "that's twice we have come to this dump and been dumped." Pools revert back to form in Kent against Gillingham. Oh dear... Well there isn't much in the immediate future to look forward to in 2023 is there?

Why would we not want to win this game?, the excitement of a 4th Round Draw for me is enough to warrant the conviction, the money, also the publicity, the opportunity and let's be fair most decent players we may sign would possibly be cup-tied so wouldn't be available for the next round anyway.

Stoke are 4 points above the relegation places in the Championship so they will not be looking forward to this game either, never understood this "we need to concentrate on the league solely" approach.

Dont risk anyone but try some other players and risky tactics and hope for a fluke win.
Hopefully they will put out a weakened team trying something different also.
If they put out a decent team we are knackered.
Fingers crossed for a 1-0 win with Killip saving a penalty.

If Pools were having a half decent season or even an average season I would feel slightly more excited about this game because there would be some hope (even a small one) of a win. As it is, we all know that there will be no contest on Sunday. In football there is always doubt about the result but I am struggling to see any in this fixture. I know other people will think I am too negative but I guess I will have to live with it.

Waste of time game we are struggling to survive in the league with a team that's worse than when we were non league.

That's my view too. Stoke won't play anything like a full strength team and might fancy it even less than some of our fans do. Hope there's a Baltic wind blowing in off the North Sea.

Shame though that Pools didn't throw in the towel against Harrogate in the 3rd round or better still get humiliated by Solihull in the round before. That would have made some people's day.

Predicting Pools to lose dosent mean any Poolie wants us to lose.
You honestly think it makes some peoples day when we lose.

Do I think some people are so desperate to get Raj out of 'our' club that they seem to enjoy jumping on every poor result? Yes Kev, as a matter of fact I do.

And the people complaining that Pools playing a 3rd Round FA cup tie is a waste of time or an inconvenience seem to have forgotten that winning games is what football teams exist for. Beating Solihull and Harrogate in the cup is part and parcel of Pools' slowly improving form under Keith Curle.

never been so dis-interested with a 3rd round FA Cup Pools Tie ever ! shame really as its a nice home fixture against some proper opposition.

reality being they put 3/4 goals past us and make us look as shambolic as we really are ! Killip to have a stinker

what is even worse is there is a chance of going and we do not get a result on the day as it ends up a draw. nearly as pointless as test matches which last 5 days without a result. OK we will be in monday nights draw and low and behold we draw the mags at the vic with even more sadness if we lose the replay. just end all replays and i might show some interest.

If we do manage a draw there'll be 500+ Poolies along for the replay at Stoke. Think their interest may carry a bit weight than yours - even as an ex-ref.

Not sure how many changes Stoke (or us) will be making for the game obviously, but if we score first, then you just never know what might happen. YES I know staying in the league is our priority, but hopefully we give a good account of ourselves.

those changes stoke may make will be the type of player that would get in the majority of league 2 sides. they will not play kids even if a few get some time off the bench if the game is safe. its an important game for them just to keep their fans on side as a defeat at the vic would be like pools losing at some national league north or south strugglers.

like everything in life its all about different opinions on subjects. there will be dans across the country who have been really waiting for their cup game and getting excited about it. others will also have a varied degree pf didinterest.

Just seen the Stoke owner and Bet365 boss has been paid over £200 million last year with also £50 million in dividends.

How the other half live?

At least my winnings from B365 yesterday were just over £40 - that's me happy anyway.

Fighters chance.
Good distraction for the players and fans.
An input of cash.
Unless we embarrass ourselves (team or fans) we can't lose - well, the situation; we can certainly lose the game.
Come on Pools.
