a lot could depend on which side as the most available players for the game. a game we need to win or at least not being defeated. going for my usual defeat but only 1 nil this time.

Luke Armstrong to score first obviously and then beaten by the club he should have joined permanently. Luke alongside Josh. I can dream I suppose. Over to you Raj and Keith. Pools 2 Harrogate Town 1.

We have already beaten Harrogate twice at the Vic this season, so I cant imagine we will beat them again particularly with Sterry injured and Gawd knows who playing Centre half. I have a bad feeling about this on.

They were tripe when we played them in the FA Cup in November with a back 4 of Tumilty- Menayese- Ferguson- Odour. They probably can't be as bad again but they never fancy coming to the Vic and playing in front of our 'very hostile' fans.

Well of course I want Pools to win so I hope you are right but I notice their form has picked up recently and last time out they only lost 1-0 at Bradford to a goal scored in the first minute. Prior to the Bradford loss, they won their last three league games including hammering Mansfield 3-0 at home and strolling to a 4-1 win at Rochdale. Like I say, I have misgivings.

Sterry out and it looks like Shelton at RB. Murray still out so looks like Ferguson at CB with Tumulty left wing back. Young Gray starts.

Shame this one wasn’t postponed, team looks awful and disjointed, hopefully a serious amount of new players before next game….anything out of this be a huge bonus

Not trying to be funny, but may I suggest you leave the ground early a bit more often. We could end up challenging for the play offs.

Fair result. Would have taken it at 2pm with our squad and bench. Harrogate pretty much full strength.

Dreadful first half, very entertaining second 45. Shelton's goal was a beauty, only topped by Harrogate's second equaliser. 3-3 is the sort of scoreline you expect in games over the Christmas holidays.

Joe Grey was MoM for me. Fair play to Mark Shelton for battling away all game but he is possibly the worst excuse for a right back Pools have ever had to field outside the National League. For Christ's sake sign some defenders this week Pools - we can't afford to drop more points to Gillingham, Rochdale and Colchester.

The team is just far from the standard it needs to be from a defensive POV & the book stops at those who oversaw that shambles of a pre-season. That includes only having Letheren as back up for the majority of the season. Not only is it lacking in quality, it is grossly imbalanced, with players cutting in on their wrong foot or having one of your best crosses of the ball sat at centre back.

Rumours of interest in Umerah are also a big concern. I don't see how the alleged signings of Dolan, Walker & possibly Hartley are going to pull us out of the mire. The games are disappearing fast. I fear for us.

I was expecting a good hiding after the first Harrogate goal went in but was impressed with the way we fought back. We scored three very good goals but struggled defensively, especially with their pace. Odusina would have given the speed merchant on loan from Boro a run for his money. If we sort out the defensive shortcomings, especially the lack of pace, we should see a massive improvement. Joe Grey was outstanding, as was Josh Umerah. Wes McDonald a waste of space but Shelton gave a decent account but he is not a defender. I think I would have been tempted to put Stephenson on and we need to get Fergie back at left back cos we miss his crosses. A decent settled back four/five should see us stay up. It looks like 25 points from the remaining games could be enough but it will be tight. 30 would be better.
A Goalie, 2 central defenders and a striker is the absolute minimum but would like to see a couple more than that.

Penny pinching has caused all these problems and the fact we're having to look at ex players from years ago is nothing short of a joke to try and keep us in this league. No doubt raj will be tryng to offload umerah at the first chance he can get. Club is a complete shambles, if we finish 3rd bottom it will be a miracle.

That match could have ended 7-7…. bad for anyone with a dicky heart, not so much a game of football, more the football equivalent of a slapstick shoot out.
Apart from ‘Mayonaise’, the entire defence including Killip need shipping out.
Killip ‘exchanging views’ with the Town End faithful is not a good sign either.

Fair play to the lads battling back after going a goal down so early, but christ we are dreadful.
First half was awful, all hoof & hope ball, the second we played football a couple of times & it resulted in a couple of goals.
We are just so slow & cannot cope at all with anyone with pace.
If we don't bring in some decent defenders,we're pretty much knackered.

Get rid of 10 players bring 4 in and then you get the usual well raj has backed the manager. He has sold the last 3 managers down the river without a paddle, he will do it with curle too, who has somehow managed to muster 7 points out of the last 12.

Come again??? Pools signed 16 players this summer and another 2 non-contract players after the season started. They're all there at 'First Team' on the OS. Plus the Man Who Never Was - Chris Maguire.

The last manager was backed alright - the mistake was fannying around for weeks after sacking Lee then bringing in an ignorant Scot who knew F All about English football and allowing him to do as he pleased.

If Keith Curle is backed as much as Hartley was we'll be fine - depends how much of the playing budget is tied up in 2-year deals for players Hartley signed who are either not up to standard or have spent months on the injury list.

all of that is true. decided to stream the game after all and looking at both teams i,d expect the harrogate fans would be more upset by the result than we are. if their defence had two centre halves missing with a strong side out playing as they did we,d have hammered them. my only worry is where are we going to get these replacements from and the standard they will be, but suppose 2 central defenders of any standard are better than makeshifts.

Murray and Hastie celebrating Hogmanay before going out on loan north of the border.
Umerah booked, is that 2 bookings in 2 games ?

It was in the very low 400s. 406 rings a bell but I might be a couple off.

Stopped buying tickets as the books of tickets the nice lass in the Mill House has for sale always seem to be miles off. She agrees!

Murray has serious shortcomings but I cant see him going anywhere unless we sign at least two decent Centre Halves. Lacey out for weeks so that leaves only Meneyese. Hastie on the other hand.........

rarely buy em nowadays since i did one of those pre match corporate meal things where the club had a main prize plus two others. All 3 won by those present. made me wonder a bit after that although it wasn,t pools.

I can’t see anyone signing Hastie either he has never fulfilled the promise he showed in his younger days, maybe a loan spell in a lower division would do him good like Cooper did with Boydie with Boston ?

Roly M a good job we had him. OK made a bad mistake but 100% effort from that lad and as I have said before Pools should make every effort to get him permanent. Can't offer any thoughts on who should play central defence. A few observations though...Why doesent Ben Killip come for the ball and command his penalty area better? He would be a half decent keeper and dependable if he did that more often. We know he can make great saves. And these injuries to Jamie Sterry seem to be coming more frequently. Joe Grey did OK and if only he had passed that ball across instead of going for goal. Another lad who gives his all. I keep dreaming that Pools still have Peter Kioso, Tish, Tyler Magloire and Timi O and Lukey Armstrong.
